Custom Exhaust

I got the Reband pipes, I've just got to put them on and get the dyno done, also Rick at Reband has done a carbon fibre heat shield (I got one on order)

That map will adjust itself thru the Auto Tune if you change your pipe
But I am sure that Neville or Bob would probably get more out of it

Hans I have a quick question. How did your work by or does the autotune reconize the accelerator pump kicking in without leaning it out? Is there a are in the auto tune that knows when the accelerator pump is kicking in? Just wondering because if it does not it will lean it out evertime you wack the throttle.

To the best Of my knowledge there is no acelerator pump in fuel injection unlike carbreters, the ECU map intake sensors know that when you give it a wack (and cause a sudden increase in intake vacum) and you are going into a higher throttle postion so there fore it gives more fuel and as the AFR table number grows as the throttle postion increases. It would only lean out if you had the AFR set to high (higher being leaner)
I think that is brief as I can explain it, I hope that makes sense

I was led to believe there was only its a feature not accessable to us like the pulse width ratio of of the injectors. I know the PCIII units had a accelerator pump feature to dump a little extra feul as you whack the throttle. I figure there is a vacuum delay until the rpm picks up.something has to make up for the initail large opening of the throttle when the air rushes in. I do not have a PCV But wonder if you gander at the book if you may find something about it.

book what book that is the only bad thing I will say for the PCV is the lack of a clear instruction booklet, I infact was even missing part of the instalation instructions (I had to download the complete instruction of thier website) as others also have reported and the last copule guys I have helped set up thier PCV had problems due to unclear instructions.

!!

A couple of quick things as I should be working . There is an accelaration fuel circuit in fuel injection vehicles. At this point we do not have access to tune that via Tuneboy etc. Not in the Rocket anyway.Other brands and softwares allow this feature. The PCV auto tune will almost always pull fuel out of the map, not because it is too rich often, but because it is "seeing" accel fuel. One needs to be careful with tuning . Although the PC V is a good tool it does not allow ignition access, which is a must for a good tune on a R3. I do not reflash ECU's I have been caught before. US fuel is much different to ours for one. Engine s are different as well. Any "canned" tune is just a starter, not a good tune. On Ric s exhaust. The Reband exhaust is definately good for 160+rwhp with a set of unifilters and a good tune. I say Unis because they will fit under the bearclaw and make hp. Any larger/better filters will work. The little stumpy K&Ns which go under the claw will cost some HP. Also if some one is wanting over approx 210/220 hp then the exhaust needs to be altered slighly from the over the counter exhaust. Speaking to the guy who makes it would be good rather than guessing. The reason I am writing this is because TC used my name Ric has also had a number of telco issues of late moving into his new premises. Try info@reband.com.au or phone 08 85524825 or 0438 645122 Cheers guys

Ah the master speaks. I was told by Power commander that the PCV was just the PCIII and the muti port hub and other power commander goodies put together and rolled up into a smaller package. Since the computer age has advanced things did not need to be as big. But again I agrre with Nev all tunes should be considered base tunes and then the bike should be tweaked in on a dyno by a qualified tuner. That which I am not. In the end even though I use A/F monitoring I wouold and will still end up on the dyno. Not around here tho as it seems they think badly of the damage the Falcon caused to the last dyno when in fack it was the operator not the bike and the nutter on the throttle

Warp I'm not that far from you and I'm sure I can get you on a dyno if you neede it and both of them have good tech running them and the hp they have seen want to say last year shoot out was won at 548 hp trubo bussa but thats only if ya need it they are one of a few I would like tune a jap trubo bike for me but I dont know much but I do know that

Is He good with the new tune boy live tuning? If not I still might bring Gracie over for a good base tune with a PCV unit to get her close. Then I can import the fuel changes into tune edit until I get to Minniapolis. It will be a while on it as I am in holding patern on the Falcon. I am waiting on some custom parts to be made for the engine. then plan on taking both up there. Wayne hooked me up with the new tune boy stuff and converted my high rpm maps over. But I definetly would like to get Gracie on for a basic tunning since I am changing the airfilter system. I can set up both filters and pay th eguy to tune it both ways so we can see whether the ITG or Pippercross filters pull more. where are you in Indiana. I have a brother just north of Indy.

Just North of Indy in muncie one guy is in Anderson the other here in Muncie the guy in muncie is starting to learn tune boy but does not have it down yet the other said he has been looking in to it they both are friends and started there shops after working for 2 different dealers and was tired of see guys get riped off on has 26 years in doing this the other 16 but BOTH I'm sure would love to see another rocket as they only get to see mine when I stop in to say hi both have been PC tuners from the get go I dont know why but that has been what most have used in this area my be because we have so many HD's and jap bikes that have them on I'm not sure
