Crash bars, engine guards, sliders Rocket 3 R/ GT

I always park the bike in gear so it cannot roll forward. This happened to a friend of mine. I have never done this before with any bike, unless it was on a hill or something like that

I always put the bike in first gear when i'm using a side stand, except when it's in my workshop/garage.

Crash bars have arrived and look amazing They bolt on by the big bolt that holds the motor to the frame but you have to take the side airbox off to fit the LH side which means removing the tank Ths Crash Bars are made from High Tensile allinium with the knob on the outside solid steel for a grinding buffer when you slide down the road

Took the Bike and Crash Bars to the Triumph Dealer in Palmerston North which is a 400km return trip and my lovely Crash Bars don't fit so very dissappointed and am trying to get a refund now Apparently they are bent in a jig and not formed in a machine so there can be a slight variation but my bottom holes where they bolt on are 23mm out Could try bending bars to suit but would crack the powder coating so not a problem I need write now

That's a shame.
The best thing would be for the seller to replace the defective product with a product based on the correct dimensions, but it seems unlikely that they would do that?

It's so disappointing when that sort of thing happens. I ordered some rear crash bars for my Heritage soft tail from China and I had to file out the holes to get them to fit also the powder coating was not good. I am going to wait until the powder coating starts to fail and then have it redone or even paint them myself with a rattle can of smooth hammerite.

If I were you and you get no joy from the manufacturer, I would take them to an engineering shop and have them bent to fit and repaint if necessary. It will still be a relatively cheap solution to protecting the bike from a static drop.

I'm not the least bit surprised the quality was subpar or that they didn't fit. Don't expect any help from china. They got yo money......

Do you think the knob could be drilled and tapped to ad highway pegs ?

Yes i do but all highway pegs that i have seen clamp on to the crash bars The bars are 32mm dia

Yes I Do But all highway pegs that I have seen clamp onto the crash bars The bars are 32mm dia and made from high tensile Aluminium The engineer I went to alter the bars said they were well made I had to get the bars put into a Hydraulic press as the bottom holes didn't line up so that was a lot of mucking around as they should have fitted the first time I will try to post photos

I’ve given up up on crash bars for my TFC. I accept it the way it is. If I lay it down so be it. I’ve not laid to many down YET..
