By start up sequence your not asking for basic, ie, kill switch set to run, bike in neutral with clutch engaged or bike in gear with side stand up and clutch engaged are you?
Are the tach and speedometer needles sweeping with ignition key to run? Please consider install of the Eastern Beaver HD headlight bypass harness, I did on my 05. Plenty of post here on why.
Well either so Ca sunshine, ie heat is a factor or just coincidence. So, heat expands metal, look for ground strap, maybe lose fuse, remove kill switch cover looking for dirt...ever replaced fuel filter? Checked fuel level, sampled fuel looking for water...have you tested battery?
Does the bike not run at all? Once it does, have you performed ten minute tune? If it runs, is performance as you remember it? Once warmed up does it start easily? Hope any of this helps, stumped as well if your response is new charged battery, recent fuel filter, clean fuel, tight connections on cables, fuses good. Hope it is simple fix.
