Choose Wisely


Having previously lived in Vegas fro 5 years (and plan to return one day), Fiona my R3T was my daily commuter on most days... year round. have trusted her implicitly whether going to work or cruising on my days off...

Like all of the Rockets I've owned, enjoyed the Speed Triple R, had fun on the Softail Breakout, even came to terms with the geezer glide, but if I had to make a choice on only one of the bikes in my current stable it would be the 2017 1200 Tiger Explorer XRT. Ugly as a mud fence, but very functional and probably the best suspension I've ever ridden. 140 BHP and handles like a dirt bike, the boxes allow me to carry whatever I need, it survived the roads in Mexico with no issues and has a sufficient range for ironbutt rides.

Did you have to do the head/ loud valve train recall?
 
Nope. I had a charging issue on my last trip to Mexico, but Triumph stepped up and replaced the alternator even though I was a few months out of warranty, but that is the only issue I've had with it.
 
Probably an H2 SX SE, IMHO it is the best do it all currently on offer.

All the advanced electronics, good comfort, good power, good storage space, good dealer network, good agility.

The only potential downside is the wait on parts when things do break since it's a low volume bike.

Not yet, couldn't get a demo ride it was just released when I went looking. Was able to sit and Snoop about the bike though. Doesn't feel it's weight, even sitting still.

There's a 2018 on offer for $17,495 with 0 miles nearby.
