Cheap headlight upgrade - Cyclops LED

@TOMCAT @1olbull Well they're certainly bright; claim is 3 times brighter than ordinary H4s and I'd say that's about right. Light pattern on hi and lo beam seems fine, so I don't know what Croft's going on about - nothing too unusual there. One thing I don't like too much is there seems to be a dark patch in the middle of the illuminated area caused no doubt by the post the LEDs are attached to. This shouldn't be such a problem with the Rocket's twin headlights. I'll see how it goes over the next few nights before passing judgement.

I'm a fan of LED, and a fan of more light, but not a fan of illegal headlight mods. Even in the photos during the day that seems to show the light leaking all over the place and firing light in directions that isn't straight ahead. For another 100 or two you can get an 8630 Evo, that outputs 2900 raw lumens and does it legally and on the road.
That's good to know as I can't imagine anyone putting anything not approved by the government on their bikes. All the riders on this forum have their exhaust system checked and approved, as well as their suspension modifications, horns, etc. o_O

Of course we do

don't forget the tires

AFAIK...if you do the Cyclops vs EVO route...you save 640 dollars on the RIII...130 vs 770.

IMO the OEMs should not be DOT legal as the are HORRID at best. Pitiful...Pathetic...

Spending 700 plus dollars on EVOs and Daynakers does not make them 5x better than a proper setup of the Cyclops....No offense...But 770 is INSANE for two headlamps...Shame on J and W...

The Cyclops will give you conspicuity in the daytime and if you install them correctly...exponential icrases over the stock headlights. Keep it simple and cost effective. I make mid sixes a year and I am not dropping 750 for a set of headlamps. Period.

Yeah...How many darksiders are rolling with EVOs or Daymakers?
