I love my 2013 rocket 3 touring but the seating position makes my back hurt. I find if I sit on the end of the passenger seat it feels perfect and no discomfort. Was thinking about Taking apart the seat and changing the foam and or somehow making a bench seat. I have not because I dont want it to look bad as im not a professional. I have made my own seats before some looked bad but were comfortable and some did not look too bad. I guess this winter go to ebay or amazon and get another seat then give it a try. Anybody out there changed the seating position? I am only 6 foot 1 but it feels so much better sitting back further. I do have highway bars with pegs also but the seating position is what feels best.
Have you considered bar risers to bring the bars closer back to you more and or modifying the forward foot controls a bit?
I also suffer a bit from riding like that and I often sit back on the middle of both seats to stretch out. Highway pegs on the crash bars are supper helpful too so you can prop your legs up on long rides but I found it's more comfortable for me to lock my toes under the shifter and brake so I can relax my legs.
I'm 6'2.5" in the morning.
As for the seat, I would get one on eBay and shave it down and move things to your liking and put some memory foam in and carve it with a turkey knife
Mongler, bar risers or moving foot controls sound like good possibilities, had not really thought about those. Need to do something this winter because I dont even want to take longer than a 100 mile ride or so without changing something.
You arnt moving foot positions without mods, corbin single seat is awesome, ive had shaved by corbin, with tape i marked and they built me a new seat. I also have heated double seat by corbin but have not have that modded for my arse, if you can corbin makes a world of difference also classic bars help touring riders. Classic bars are #1 upgrade for some of our treasured touring riders.

For me, 2 inch risers made all the difference. Allowed me to lean back enough that comfort is great. However, I'm only about 5'10 in ye olde freedom units.
Also picked up a Mustang solo seat at some point, but that does lock you in place, no moving forward or back. I think they still make them thought but they're the literal opposite of a bench seat.
