Is that with the shields? I inow coming out of exhaust port is 550 to 650 degree F and rolling on the dyno after a pull ive seen 850 degree f at exhaust port on pipe.

What were the readings without heat shields at idle

This does NOT match with what I measured. I used a thermometer with a probe and I was able to see 680F. I will make another test this coming weekend affixing better the probe and accelerating more the engine and see.

What were the readings without heat shields at idle

its already in the photo, 150C is measured below the heatshield on bare pipe.

I think the highest temperature would be where it's bolted to the engine. That's where lower temp stuff might fail.

Came home after a good ride and measured header temps with bike still idling in garage. Sorry for the blurred images. Headers at the block (360F-370F) Heat Shields (145F-155F). This is with the Jet Hot Ceramic coating applied.
