Not at all. I had a 225/55R16 Bridgestone Potenza. That is the only size I've had any dealings with, so something not so wide would help. It did look good though Greg from Tx is on both sites and commented about his tire and said he did not have that problem. I can't remember is handle, Gregasarus or something like that

I like the narrower tire for it's ease of flick over in tight switchbacks like we saw at E.S. the fact that it generates very little counter steer is also an added bonus...

Deeply rutted gravel and dirt byways have really got to be a beech! Always having to apply a degree of counter steering when traveling in a straight line is a strong consideration to make. Changing tires every 6 months is another. Yes, the Rocket III with a car tire is different to a significant degree. I like riding a long time, without worry about burning the tire off regularly

Ive not been as fortunate as those few with 20K+ on a darkside tire. That may be the result of leaving to much of the 280 compound on the pavement Those with a 440 compound are said to perform quite well or exceptionally are enduring many more mile than my 280 compound Zeon 2xs. It has been a good tire at 200% over a Metz but not the expected %400+. Clearly I cant keep the torque in-check:bch:

IT may be measurable as to the amount of counter-steering is necessary based on the normal degeneration of wear on the front tire compared to with or without a darkside.

I have a long tour tire on the front, other than a Metz, and it shows a signifcant degree of additional wear on one side of center versus the other. So, my right hand counter-steering is prominent...though both forearms look like PopEye's
