Cam Cover Gasket

My 12 Roadster was leaking from the Valve Cover gasket on the left front from new. Snugged up the bolts which were all loose. that was 20,000 kms ago with no issues.

These gaskets are designed to be reused multiple times, so long as they don't get hard or cut. I had 60,000 kms on my America and had reused the VC gasket at least 6 times with no problems.

Snug up the VC bolts and ride her.
 
i have this same issue; 14.5K miles the gasket is leaking a little as it is crimped on one part. Because of the enormous heat this engine produces this seems to be inevitable. Question- my bike is still under warranty i am assuming this is not covered- how much was this repair at stealership?
 
My 2 cam cover gasket repairs (so far) have both been covered under warranty. Triumph doesn't want the dealers applying any sealant to the gasket, but that's the only thing that seems to work. My dealer applied some last time and the gasket has been holding strong. Some members here have had warped cam covers and others have had factory powder coating oversprayed onto machined surfaces.

Lemme guess... is yours deforming/leaking on the exhaust side right behind cylinder 1?

That is strange because the service manual says to apply sealant to the four D sections.
 
could have been overtorqued it looks to be leaking all around

That is the area where the service manual says to use the sealant. I am going to be extremely careful replacing the cam cover gasket after checking the valve clearance. I hate leaks.
 
What alpental described & Lemieuxfan posted is a mirror image of my cam cover gasket. Same location and deformation.
