buying pre-2010 Rockets

+1 about the abs, I really want that. Apparently, the bike I'm looking at comes from a forum member here, pig9r. Normally I wouldn't disclose that but if someone else buys it, then I can be free of the torment. Very nice bike. However I think I'm onto a 2013 roadster.

Welcome from another newb to the world of Rockets from central NY State, Danvitt. I'm ol' Harley trash but like you I'm intregued by the Rockets and have decided I want one. Also like you I've done a fair amount of reading up on them and have watched WAY too many you tube vids on them . The way I see it all brands have their issues so..... Being pretty much retired, for economic reasons I'm looking at the '07 - '09 era Rockets. I Half the battle is finding one that's been properly maintained, relatively low miles, and hasn't been beat to death.

Good luck on your quest!! And btw what's pig9r got for sale, got a link? If you're not interested I might be :)

That bike is owned by one of our old members. Taken good care of and has been updated by Baxter back in the day when Gus was the head tech. nice bike but in my opinion 8 grand is a little much.

Also you should go sit on a few different ones the standard with pegs, the Classic with the rails and the roadster more upright Not that you can't swap the set ups but that adds to the money unless someone wants to trade.

I don't think I can go wrong buying that bike. I'm sure it's well cared for and it has a ton of extras and I was very close to pulling the trigger. However I do want the ABS and some of the other perks of having a newer model.

Yup, I've seen that one on ebay. Not crazy about the fact that it's been cammed. Stock engine would be better/more desirable, least for me. And yeah, 8K is a bit on the high side. Agreed too, it is a good looking Rocket.

Never thought twice. Was looking for a new bike and ran across the promotion video for the Rocket X. Found one in Texas. Bought the bike and rode down to FT Worth Texas and rode it home. No test ride. No regrets either. Best bike I have ever owned. Riding a label is cool but riding a Rocket is awesome. No turning back. Buy one and you will understand in time. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Having one Pre-ABS is no problem if you change out the pads, front & rear with EBC HH's ;)
I just got through slapping mine through the twisties on the three sisters ride on wet to semi wet roads and had no problems not having ABS - and that was 2 up
Very impressive watching him ride while I followed WAY BEHIND THEM. :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
