I'm trying to find out who makes pairs of tyres for bst carbon wheels e.g manufacture, style and exact tyre sizes in the UK,because im struggling, cheers.
I would think any tire that fits the size of rims you have. One of the reasons some people went with the CF rims is to have a better selection of tires.
I believe, and I could be wrong, that those with BST wheels were running a rear tire on the front because of difficulty finding the right size. If you search "BST" here you likely find what you need.
i have sent an email to bst and waiting ,also i have tried searching this site with no luck the problem is it needs to be someone from the uk as it seems different countries have different names for the tyres.
Hogweed, I was lookin at a site who supplies bst wheels in the UK,They say "simply fit your discs and tyres" and ride . BIKEHPS.COM seem to be the UK suppliers.Unless your changin rim size (are you?), there ain't many tyres to chose from in Uk . You can't even get the exedra max radial here. Al.
cheers for the replies but what i would like is for someone in the UK to tell me the make and model numbers of the tyres that they have fitted to their bst carbon wheels ,thanks lads
If its any help I've looked at an Avon Cobra chart and they list a 240/40VR18 79V that has the very similar diameter and width but a slightly lower service index. Recommended 16" version is 84V.
The only 18" front tyre listed is a 130/70R18 63H. Recommended is 150/80R17 72V. Overall diameter/width of the 18" is 25mm smaller and 22mm narrower.
