I've got 3600 miles on my Riken Raptor, and the edges are rounded off a little, hardly any wear on the center patch. Anything over 10mph and I can hardly tell it is a CT.
Flop through the blind twisties on the secondaries just as easily as a nice new MCT. The feel is different, but no big deal. I really like that I didn't have to ride on low tread for the last 500-1000 miles.
I love powering through the sweeping curves on the secondaries at 80+.
Ride the interstate grooved payment (preparing for resurface, for the last 6 months) going around 55mph curves at 70mph no problem.
With my first two stock MCTs I was on the steel belts by now.
To each his own, I'll never go back.

3600 miles ! Is that all the miles you got on that tire Skip. I installed the CT last summer when I had the up grade done at 13,000 miles. I just hit 20,000 last weekend on the way up to Cassaday. Thats over 7,000 miles and the tire shows little signs on any wear.
It's the only way to drive. JMO

What size did you go with? I'm still torn between the R1 Eagle 240 I bought last fall and chucking it for something narrower. That R1 sure would look awsome on the rear, but maybe I should go conservative first round.

HellFire

Per Skip's recommendation, went with the 225x55 ZR.
I've got no complaints, so that will probably be my next one.
Really ..... Hmmmmm ... I can't picture that size in my head. How does it look? 225 sounds narrow for some reason, does it fill the fender as well as the metz? I did read somewhere that this size corrects the speedo error, have you noticed that?
Sorry to badger you on this, I'm so **** undecided on choosing a size that sometimes I'm mulling it over as I fall asleep. :p
I'm vain in the case of picking a wide tire, and the tread pattern on the Eagle looks really good to me. But I'm going dark for the traction and mileage, I have to decide on a compromise I can live with. Handling vs. cool wide tire, traction wet/dry vs. cool tread pattern, mileage vs. wear characteristics. It's becoming a tough decision for me because I overthink things sometime.
Too bad we can't just try them on like shoes. lol

That doesn't look much narrower than the Eagle F1 when it's on the bike. I've seen those pics before and never put 2 and 2 together that it was a 225. Thanks.
