Broke my horn cover :(

I'll be old one day and when I am I'll get a screen . Till then I'll eat grasshoppers and pretend to like it lol

Good luck with that , that's what the other two tried to do .. pretended to like the taste of grasshoppers splatter. They weren't very convincing I can tellya .. hahahaha

One day we discovered our horn cover broke and we are not even sure how it happened. The thing is cheap plastic and quite brittle, so it does not take much. We used a bit of J Bond Weld and some light metal pieces to repair the thing. It has worked so far.

Wind screens are a necessary evil for us because we are old and tire easily with the wind pushing against our upper torso. Once or twice a year we get to thinking that it does not look good, convince ourself we can ride without it, and we remove it. We then go out for a ride for a couple of hours, grinning when we leave. Upon our return home, we reluctantly put the screen back where it was. In our case, function must trump form.

We understand that certain species of grasshoppers are actually good to eat, properly prepared. We have never (yet) been hungry enough to try any (intentionally).

We trudge on.

My owner’s manual tells me not to ride faster than 85 mph with factory windscreen as it may not hold up. Once I accidently hit slightly over 125 mph, (I think the wind was at my back) and it held up just fine. I ride a lot on the super slab and the windscreen does its job of keeping my puny arms from getting tired. The faster I go though, the more dead bugs seem to be attracted to my face shield…

If that days come along brother, let me know and I can provide the needed knowledge on prepartion...

Great looking ride, Mitch. The screen looks very cool but mine is in the basement because I found it almost useless. Changed it out for a Summer Screen which looks "duty" but works very well especially on long trips.
Maybe it's time to change out horns. The stock horn is one of the crappiest in terms of sound, I've ever heard.

I have the stebil air horn hidden behind the side cover but I think the bike looks like there is something missing if the stock horn cover is removed so i left it on
