Bridgestone Exedra Max Radial

I have over 5K miles on my Max. IMO, It the best everyday riding rear tire made for the non-Touring rockets. The price has come up about $20-30 since I purchased mine, but it's a bargain at the current price. I expect at least 10-12K and very posssibly more miles out of it, depending upon whether I behave or not.:D

BTW, WATCHER, on "normal" roads and with a "normal" rider and proper care, you can expect to get 7-10K miles out of that Metzeler. There are a lot of tire abusers on these sites.;)

Also, the Exedra Max has a 1" higher overall diameter, which will raise the rear by half that or 0.47" to be exact.

Hey Phil they work well on the touring! About 2500miles so far I love em,it's a different bike with those max's . I hope to get round 10 k out of them, the touring use the same size as the Valkyries, and that is the replacement tire for them. In comparison they are about the same,I feel safe and confident with these max's on my touring.......sandman

P.S. I'd sell my bike before I'd run another set of metzlers!

Sweet, sandman! I really didn't have a problem with the Metzelers, but the B' stone is simply a superior tire all the way around in my experience.

oh, I forgot to mention that I coupled the Exedra Max with Michelin's Commander II up front in a 140 size and the difference in handling, tracking and steering is unbelievable. the bike feels about 150-200 lbs. lighter and flicks more like a sport tourer than a super bruiser-cruiser.

ok you are getting me a little worried I got mets marathons on a touring and have 2100 miles on them so far still got 97% or so tread I hear that there only getting 3 to 5 k out of them and I'm leaveing in the morning for 2800 mile ride then the 15 leaveing for Vegas so did I get lucky and end up with a good set or is it that I try not to leave them at the stop light lol sorry just jokeing I still would like to know how far people are getting as I'm looking to get 12 to 15 k out of them

Your Metz are good for 5000 miles if your lucky, Mine lasted 4900.

... if you aren't maintaining proper tire pressure, haven't changed the geometry of your ride, don't do burnouts from bar to bar, have roads paved with diamonds or carbides and/or you don't use your brakes properly, that's probably true.:D

Regardless, the Marathons are not the best tire available for everyday riders.

i've used a few Metz then the Avon came out and I had a lot of them. But am excided to try the Brigs for $75 less then a Avon, The Avon is a great tire compare to the Metz I would get 5k out of a Metz maybe 7k out of a Avon. I now have over 61k on the ROcket so I have used my share of tires.

I would not say I'm a eazy rider lol as the guys who ride with me think I'm nuts lol but just got home today and have 3200 mile on it now and still look 95% or better so I think I'm good to go to Vegas I'll look at bridgestones when I get back sounds like there what to use I did make 8 passes on the tail of the dragon last week pluse all the other rideing will have to say that the touring handeled super as the group that was with me was not the best riders I know of but they could not hang in the turns and I thought they would walk on me

Hey mate i recently put a bridgstone exedra max on the back of my 09 standard and although i have only put 1500 killometers on it so far i am really happy with it
at this stage i would say i will be getting another once its worn . i will keep u posted as to how many ks i get out of her.

I have the Bridgestone on the rear, so far very happy with the choice in looks, size and performance. I might take Triumphil's advice of the Michelin Commander 2 up front as mine is due for replacement soon. Only have used stock tyres previously. Thanks to all who put their bit in to these threads for us all to hear the experience real people have had. Cheers :)
