Brake fluid replacement/flush

I did it last week and I replace my fluid w DOT 5.1.
I was not able to perform the abs bleed. Tried w TUNEECU, but I got some messages w error. It is happening w some models and it seems that the developer is working on it.
This sequence previous showed has some errors... The torque is different from front to rear (do not ask me why) and you can not repeat and you need TIME before bleed abs again

@fmansur are you sure you used DOT 5? It's DOT 4.

5 is not better than 4- it's a different application.

I am using DOT 5.1. It is better than DOT 4.0.
We can never use DOT 5.0, cause it is a different base. But 5.1 is the regular evolution of DOT 4.0

Explaining: DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 are both glycol-based brake fluids. They are compatible each other and they can be mixed.
So, DOT 5.1 is better cause it has a higher Boiling point.
DOT 5.0 is silicone-base fluid and can NEVER be mixed with DOT 3, 4 or 5.1.

I learn something here every day.

Based on my conversation with the dealer, Triumph has modified the ABS bleed process, and the tech said it takes them longer now to do the process. He even said the bike makes a bunch of weird noises during the process now that it didn't make before. As we only have access to the original service manual out here in user land, I'd wonder if both TuneECU and DealerTool are executing the "old" bleed process rather than the "new" one that would be supported by an update to the Triumph software and an accompanying TSB.

I chat with a triumph technician in other country and he said the instructions are same as what we have in that 1800 page manual. I asked him to confirm if something has changed on Dealerportal of triumph and he said its same.

When I was looking at buying the "Dealertool," I found this. Maybe helpful....

I cant find this ABS procedure in 1800 pages manual, Can you help me? if its in there whats the page number?

Sorry, this is all I know about it...
It's here on post #7

This might be useful. Uses DealerTool later in the video- not a Rocket, but Speed Triple. Doubt that matters.

"the tech said it takes them longer now to do the process".... and, btw, we charge by the hour :roll::roll:

I'm just having a laugh at our situation, not you. They're making it harder and harder to service our own bikes. We just keep finding ways....

Well, that's a selling point. :whitstling:
