Bought a non runner in Vancouver

Welcome mate from one of the Aussies,
Please explain how it won’t run. Does it crank over? Do the gauges sweep and fuel pump prime when key and kill switch turned on?

Is it showing the mileage?

I was unsure of mileage when i picked it up. I did get a bunch of wiring and the ignition hooked back up, and the battery charged the other day. Mileage reads 39,000 miles. Bike is originally from the states I assume, MPH speedo and daytime running light harness installed.

Did you Ever live in Leaf Rapids Manitoba. I knew a Hammer ther>

Nope.

P0460** fuel gauge circuit problem
will not effect running:)

Yeah figured that out.

I haven't really dove into it yet. Spent the other day just hooking things up that were unplugged or messed with. Got the battery charged. Gonna do an oil and coolant change today so i can start turning it over. Starter does work, I blipped it for a second, but didn't want to start cranking it over yet. I'm assuming by how it was left that it has a no spark issue. Previous owner tried another computer but apparently that wasn't the issue. I found the spare computer under the seat. Once I get the fluids dealt with today I also want to do a compression test on it. Blowing off work today, I'll report back in a few hours!

Didnt have much for oil or coolant in it. Did an oil change. Havent bothered to put coolant in it yet.

Did a compression test. Doesnt look good at 90-60-90. It does have spark though. Put it all back together, drained the tank and put some fresh fuel in it. Turned it over, no fire. Ran codes, just had the p0460 which i cleared. Fuel pump is priming.

I'm hoping i did something wrong on my comp test.

It could be worth checking the valve clearance.

if someone has been messing with the timing chain it might be out of time and possible bent valves.
u might put some oil on the top of the pistons and let it set (maybe a rusted ring)
good luck:thumbsup::thumbsup:
