Blowing in the wind - the need for a revised kickstand

maybe easier (and less pain) if you try to get one of those extendables in the market and to see if it can be making it fit... but double check weight limitation...

Finding one that's compatible is the trick, but that would be an easy solution.

There are a bunch advertised to fit the R III. If the mount is the same (good chance) this may be a great solution.

... and returning it. Unfortunately, the space between the "ears" is much too small. The proper gap needs to be 14mm. I've looked and looked and can't find an alternative. This is highest on my list of "to do's" for the R3, but for now I'm a man without a plan. :banghead::banghead:

Also, never leave a bike cover on in high winds. DAMHIK

Oh, nooooo! And that one has much further to go and much heavier too. Bummer!
Anyone come up with a solution? I too worry about wind and have left bike at home some days because of it
I’m about ready to chop off the end and put a rubber walking cane foot on it. Will look better than it would after falling over.

Ha! That's the way my 2013 looked one day, but I was underneath it! Flat rear, pulled off on right side of the road, but kept both wheels on the edge of the pavement. Kickstand down, and bike was at 90 degrees, straight up. Had to sit on it, to keep it up. Got a friend to come with some tire plugs, and an air tank. I was on the right side, squatted down, holding the bike up, and he was on the left side, trying to push the air hose on the valve stem. Yup, bike went over on top of me. Both wheels up in the air, like a beached whale! I got out, we got the bike stood back up. 3 tire plugs and 2 cans of fix a flat, and 2 trips to refill the air tank, the hole was huge, must have been a bolt or something similar. I finally made it home, Thanks to a GOOD friend! Even with no flat rear, it can be tricky to find a good parking spot. Sometimes I have to look for a divot to put the end of the stand in. I have a hard tail, lowered Rocket, that I had to bend the stand, to get it to sit right.
