I haven't changed my bevel box gear oil for 6k miles and was looking at some posts here to refresh my knowledge before doing it. I just saw a post from last year by Turbo200R4 mentioning that the top (filler) plug must be torqued to 60nm and the bottom (drain) plug to only 15nm. My notes from last time show 60nm (the 15nm for the drain was written small and sideways, which I would've missed). I'm passing on Turbo200R4's reminder b/c it's such an easy mistake to make.

What time did you start drinking today? I'm not bashing him, I'm complimenting him for pointing out the CORRECT torque for the 2 bevel box plugs!

Mis read your post - TWICE!
When I read your, "I'm passing on Turbo200R4's reminder" I took it to mean ignoring.
I deleted the post with my apologies.
Mea Culpa.

Yeah, the smaller bolt getting trashed is not uncommon I believe, 15 nm is not a lot. Need a gentle touch there.

When I read your first post it was incomprehensible to me how you interpreted my message as a slam. Now I understand. Though this was an inconsequential matter, it's scary how an innocent choice of a word or phrase can fairly elicit a radically different perception and response, sometimes with lifelong consequences.

Twas ON ME for reading too fast . . .
