Best Darkside Review

The Duke is not going to outpower a ZX 14 without forced air or NOS. Good on him for that.

If he already has the Rottweiler kit they used on Fillmore's SD R run in 2017 a good dyno tune will remove the 4-6k HP and TQ dip, but still only net about 170hp and 105 tq. I haven't done power to weight ratios on the zx-14 but the SD R has got to be lighter than the Kawi pig.

That's almost certainly what will go onto the 790Duke when the MAXXIS go off - And the power Pilot 2CT has been recommended too.
Though I can get Bridgestone S22's maybe a bit cheaper.

What a joy - CHOICE!.

These are permanently in my cart @ Revzilla. If I need tires in spring, order Power RS, in the fall - order Road 5

I've heard good things about the S22's but not tried them

YES much lighter BUT the ZX14 stomps his DUKE BAAAAD and hes not happy so it looks like NOS is the way hes going to go

YES real MC tires looks like a good choice

What’s up buddy. Don’t know if you remember me I met you in Miami at Dade corners gas station. Tall bearded guy on a Honda VTX1800 that day. After seeing your rocket with that big ol fat tire in the back I got motivated and put one on mine. Just a slight learning curb but after saving $200 I’m sold.

Yes, I definitely remember meeting you!

4" of snow here so I wish I was in Florida now and at least my 4 week countdown has begun...

Please take that darned thing off before you hit a rut and it catapults you off the bike leading to injury or demise.:)

While I have a few coins under my mattress, my 125,000 mile savings are over $3,100 which paid for 48 hotel nights on the road. It's not better nor perfect nor for everyone, but it works for me.

If dark siding was so unstable and dangerous then it seems that everyone who tried it would be dead by now. That would certainly cause it to fall from favor.

I bought a Rocket with a DS tire front (rear tire mounted backwards) and back (CT). It didn't kill me, but it did almost caused me to have 2 accidents in the first 2 days. I parked it until I could get real tires on it.

@idk Ian,
Google this, "What is a passenger vehicle"?
Also this, "Is a motorcycle a passenger vehicle?"

I agree whole heartedly that it is personal choice-period. It is indeed much less expensive and offers fewer inconvenient tire changes.
If saving money is one's criteria, why not give up your helmet and save another several hundred dollars? (joke!)

The stats on skull injury during MC crash without helmet tells the story. View a few YouTubes on bike crashes and you will start wearing a decent helmet. These days even the HD crowd are wearing full face buckets. Stats about MC crashes due to CT use are non existent.

Basic wear... gloves, thick jeans, a jacket with body armor and decent riding shoes. I still see no helmet or even eye protection, shorts and flip flops on motorcycles. Slow down. Ahhhh and avoid riding on wet roads and at night. Just saying.
