Well I had found a good deal on a 2022R with 7K on the clock. It was 14K. This was at a RideNow dealership. Made 2 trips and the 14k became 17.5k. Oddly they have corporate policy of no test ride on sport bikes. You need to sign the paperwork to purchase and AFTER purchase they have you follow an employee on a mapped out 10 mile course. If you do not like the bike they say they will sell you something else. Very bad experience.

Anyway here are my 2 choices which are reasonably close to my home.

1. 2022 Rocket 3 R with 239 miles on clock. Korosi red. Sales manager claims it has yet to be titled and master cylinder recall has been addressed Price $17,500 before tax, title etc.
And yes they allow you to take the bike for a test ride only if you have proper riding gear. That is reasonable.

2. 2024 Rocket3R with essentially no miles. Matte silver ice.Reduced to 19K !!!
Hard to believe but I will call them. Is it worth the extra $ 1500 to get a 2024 vs a 2022? No change in Rocket between those 2 years. $1500 is $1500 !!

Cannot fathom why a bike which is a 2024 with no miles would be reduced by about $5K. Any thoughts

Opinions wanted.

I did see many GT but I am not a forward controls fan.

I would go for the 2024

Since miles are so close and the price difference doesn't seem to bother you to much I'd say pick the color you like most. I imagine the 5k drops is a mix of they've had the bike a bit and the storm editions are out now. It's priced to sale as quick as possible.

2024 with full warranty.

Also ride both GT and R versions, as many put R foot controls (mid) on GTs saying that's the best of both worlds. GT bars, drivers seat, and exhaust shields, are notably different. I like my R as it is sportier, but the GT is more comfy.

Warranty?
As far as warranty I believe Triumph Warranty begins when the bike is first registered. According to the dealer, the 2022 has never been registered. Therefore I imagine it is in warranty once I buy it.
If not I will not get the 2022.

I will clarify with dealer.
Another thing I must consider if I purchase the 2022 and I am the first owner would I not have to pay for the setup and uncrating and freight for the motorcycle?
When I spoke with the dealer on the phone, he made it very clear that I would be the first one on the title. Therefore I would imagine I would have to cover the freight and set up of the bike.. This additional charge pretty much negates the $1500 savings, which I would have over the 2024. So in the end I suppose it comes down to color.
Any other thoughts which i'm missing.

Wouldn't you have to pay for the setup/uncrating on the 2024 also??? Was the 2024 ever registered? I would imagine you might get an even better deal on the 2022 model since they are clearing it out. It was probably a demo bike. See what other concessions you could get.

When I got my 2012 in 2013, they took $4500 CAN off the price since it was last years model (The 2013/14 models had no discounts). I still had to pay the set up fee (which I would have paid on the newer model also) but Triumph threw in an additional $500 credit for any accessories. The dealer also deducted 15% off any other accessories I purchased during the first year of ownership. The only issue I had was that I had to take ownership of the bike by Dec 31, 2013 which started my warranty clock. I figured this wasn't an issue since I would have 2 summers of riding under warranty. They also stored the bike for the remaining winter months until I could make the 10 hour drive down to pick it up. I wouldn't have gotten this deal on a current model at the time. I went with the 2012 instead of the 2014. Oh yah, I also saved the tax on the $4500 discount which here in Ontario is a crazy... 13%.

See how far the dealer will go to get rid of the 2022...
