Back to the shop at 100 miles

Macshooter, You can get the oval or teardrop Triumph mirrors on the Rocket with the Corbin Fairing. I have the oval and the teardrop. Both great mirrors. Worth the money over stock Micky Mouse ear mirrors. I have the Rivco risers and a small half inch spacer to tip the fairing forward where the fairing connects to the upper mounting brackets.

Hey, thanks for the tip! D@mn nice set up you got. Love the gauges! Well my mirrors haven't sold, so maybe I'll pull 'em off auction and go find some spacers.

Since I have the Rivco riser, I could have used a quarter inch spacer to make it fit but the bolt was so long it needed the half inch to use up the bolt length. I didn't want to cut it. You may need a half inch or something more. BTW: Get the white stripes added to the fairing and your helmet. That will look sharp.

Thanks for the flowers on the gauges. If you want a nice power gain the simple way. Get in touch with Dobeck Performance and ask about the AFR Plus. With just plug and play I got a power gain of 19 HP and 9 TQ. The butt dyno feels it and the real dyno confirmed it. What I like about it you can set your AFR values to anything you want when/where/how you want. Not only did I gain more power but I also practically eliminated that heat wave we get on the right leg.

Bill.

Got all my stuff from Corbin bolted on the thing and went out today to do a shakedown and see if I could get some good pics of the stuff. Well the check engine light came on and I took it back to the shop. Threw a code for the gear position indicator. It doesn't work at least about half the time I put the bike in neutral. No big deal, as I can feel my way in an out of neutral without the light. But I'm glad the computer is catching stuff like this, I thought I would just have to live with it. (also glad it wasn't something worse, the bike is still brand new!!!)

Well I didn't get good pics. But here's something for now to show what the Corbin bags and fairing look like on a matte black 2013 roadster. The Hwy bars/engine guards are Triumph, as are the adjustable mounts and pegs. I had them powder coated flat black. I left the tops of the pegs chrome. I think it came out nice that way. Very comfortable on the highway.

I'll try to get some better pics later, but you get the idea. Pretty good, you get the best of both worlds (R3T and R3R) like this.

I love the look just sti stuck on the gloss black and no bling. I have heard alot of negatives about the funtion of Corbin bags and how does the fairing work at interstate speeds?

F**kingod**** expensive. (though I talked them into a small discount.) I don't like to think about it too much... And I have a beef with some of the cheap plastic parts they use on the bags, but I'll save that for later. I guess it's what you have to pay if you want something that was made for the bike, as opposed to just fitting on it. I can't imagine they sell too many of them at those prices, and they gotta pay the fiberglass wizard who designs them. If they hold up, I'll be happy. If they start cracking after a year or something, I'm gonna flip out. But I'll make sure to post how they do over time so folks will know.

I had a real hard time finding pictures of this combo, so my intent was to get some out there for folks that want the roadster's power but need some bags too.

With these bags the bike was still cheaper than the F6B. And all I'd have to show for that would have been a bunch of buttons and some speakers I don't need or want. And about 50 less horsepower. Nah, I'll pass. :D

I was thinking of doing the stripes on the fairing, but I think it might be a bit too much, not sure. I'll think on it some more and see if I can find someone I trust around here to do it right. But yeah, I agree, I love the factory stripes. When I saw it on the show room floor, I knew I was gonna have that bike, though I tried to talk myself out of it, and be more "sensible." Thank God it didn't work!

I was going to save this for another post where I go into more detail for folks looking to buy these, but that might be a while, and it can't hurt to post it here as well. This fairing will NOT WORK with the Triumph oval or teardrop mirrors. You have to use the stockers or something else. (So don't toss them!) I put a little chip in the paint on the fairing finding that out... Nice thing about flat/matte black paint is that it's easy to fix.
back to the question how much? do not be shy we all know that stuff is expensive if you do not want your wife to know quote it two thousand less.

I don't like bags either to be honest. But this is not a weekend fun bike, I bought it commute to work and save gas and wear and tear on my other vehicles. The bike looks better naked no doubt about it. But it's tolerable this way, if you gotta have some utility/ want to pick up a sack or two of groceries on the way home.
Save gas a 2300cc motorbike? most cars have better mpg than the rocket, I know we have to talk our selfs into buying new toys.
