Back to the shop at 100 miles

I love what you've done with that Roadster, it is simply beautiful and bad-ass at the same time.

That bike looks great, I had the same corbin setup on my 05 rocket and loved it. Actually would you please delete your pictures. I found myself wanting a rocket badly again and I just bought a fjr in July!

Put on another 60 miles or so. Most without gear position indicator troubles. But we had some rain and it was slow and go in residential neighborhoods. This had me in and out of 1,2,and 3 a lot. Indicator failed many times, and at the last, close to home, it just flat got totally confused. I could go through all of the first 3 gears and it thought I was in 1st the whole time. Sux. I just hope it's the gear shift indicator and not something inside the gear box. Guess I will see soon. When I turn it off and leave it for a while (hours) the engine light goes away

Looks like the Corbin gears about $3,300 USD .. not as dear as I thought to be honest. The leather bags for the R3 were $1,600 new here in Australia. Bet a genuine HD batwing cost just as much as the Corbin.
I thought it would be more. I take it that price was in the USA? Don't worry T.C. the minimalist in me would never own a bike with all that gear on it but I don't mind the look of it.

Could be my dicky maths too mate .. I like the look of it .. I must be getting old .. correction I am getting old !!!

I love the look of the bike, that is what I want for sure, you are able to shift the bike correct?

Thanks to all for the kind words. I'm happy with the look. This bike gets a lot of attention out on the street. WAY more than I thought it would. Kinda nice, though I didn't buy it for looks.

Anyway I think I figured something out with this gear position sensor / gear shift indicator. It doesn't like going into neutral from second. That screws it up. But if you go down to first and then up to neutral, problem solved, no more check engine lights or gear position errors. Probably something that's in the instruction manual if I had bothered to read it. (maybe) But I don't needs no stinkin manuals!

I don't know if it's supposed to work that way or not, but I've got another gear position sensor coming in from Triumph. Hopefully with a new sensor and going all the way down to first gear before up to neutral, this problem will go away for good.

This bike does not like to go into neutral unless it's rolling. I'm enjoying learning the ins and outs of this beast. And I like it more and more every time I ride it. ~300 miles on the clock now. Luvin every minute of it. Especially the part where I can park right in the front of the grocery store and come out with two gallons of milk and two sacks of groceries and tote them home without needing to carry a back pack or anything. (couldn't fit all that in a backpack anyway.) The hard bags are really nice to have.

Not sure if you're supposed to change to neutral like that but if it works, do it. Like any piece of machinery, there will always be little quirks that differ between individuals. I found that my bike would sometimes pop out of 1st if it didn't let the clutch out in neutral before going into first. That way I get that reassuring clunk into gear. No clunk and you risk it popping out. That of course is if you aren't moving, so I always let the clutch out after starting in neutral. If you're moving it seems OK. Glad you're enjoying getting to know her.

By the way, my GPS was playing up a bit like yours and I found a fair bit of of oily water in there. A good clean of the sensor and the spring loaded pin with some WD40 in the hole plus a bit of grease on the 'o'ring fixed it.
