Avon's back in stock

I'm the guy that keeps telling everyone to mount an Exedra Max and some other tire on the front, BUT I did just install matching Crusietecs and love them. Better than the Cobras, less expensive at roughly $300/tire and perform better than the Cobras or Exedras. Haven't tried them in the rain yet, but I tore up The Snake (TN) and Back of the Dragon (VA) today- two very twisty tire-testing routes and they performed magically. Yes, these are what are going on the new Rockets- get 'em.
Feels like they were made specifically for this bike.
Metzeler Owned by Pirelli tires where as Avon owned by Goodyear.
Thanks for update on cruisetec tires , i have to change both tires end of this year or next season so I will order them in sooner than later.

how does the cruisertec compare to the avon’s in term of rear longevity? the grip and longevity from the avon’s are great but I have no other experience on this bike.

I neded to change my back tyre to another Avon cost here in Spain 230 EUR mounted, only i find it in one workshop others are sold out.
I don't find Cruisetec still available but in Metzelet ME888 back they offer by 310 EUR. Next one will be cruisetec i will tell you.

Too early to say, but I got less than my usual 4,000 miles from the original Avons. I was not sorry to see Avons go- never a fan. Went to Exedra Max and would get about 4K. It'd be nice if these go longer, but I'm not holding my breath. What I can say is that they perform really really well. Unless they slide around in the rain I predict that these will be my new go to tires.

Is that aggressive riding or just standard for these types of tires? I’m just curious as my other bike is more of a traditional cruiser and I usually get around 15K or so on its Michelin Commander II’s and III’s.

The road surface and super twisty nature around here takes the skin off pretty quickly. Mine tend to wear on the outside before the middle. I wouldn't worry about the longevity of these tires- they're dual compound which should help.

Great to hear! Thanks for the report.

I had almost 11,000 miles on my original back tire and there was still a tiny bit before hitting the wear bars. The original front tire is still on the bike.
