The smaller DIN socket has a higher rating than the large cigarette lighter size. My Battery Tender came with the DIN lead standard, a cigarette plug would cost extra.. Lots of heated gear uses the DIN socket.
removed the left side panel and the only blue tape i saw was a thin strand up to the left above the oil filler cap but could do find a connector.....i must need longer fingers? lol
The wiring is already in place ready to plug into back of socket. It is identified by a bit of blue tape which you cut to release the wire / plug. All clear from the instructions. It is also permanently live so you can plug your trickle charger into it.
I am not seeing the connector (blue tape) under and to the right of the airbox. Are there items you need to remove to get to it? Hopefully not the entire airbox.
I found mine behind the back edge and just below the airbox. I had to root around the wires before I found the receptacle. I think it had blue tape around it. Happy fishing!
Old thread I know, I found mine above the airbox, plug sticking upwards to catch all sorts of crap & water, not much thought gone into taping this one. Admittedly it has dielectric grease on the end of the plug. You can see the blue tape if you zoom in & the plug is that rectangle bit above the tape. I've not pulled it out yet as I wanted to find my plug before ordering the Aux plug.
