Been thinking about routes. That's ROUTES guys; grow up. ;) I know it's a long way off but it might help some guys' decision to go if they can see how doable it is.

Given that it's a long ride we don't really want to piss fart around and back-track and stuff so maybe something like this works for us southerners. Not meaning to leave anyone out but using a few names to illustrate.

Day 1. Ponters leaves Melbourne, picks up Cobber at Wodonga and they spend first night at Gundagai. 505 km (170 for Cobber) or add 100km and stay at Yass.

Day 2. Ponters and Cobber head to Muswellbrook via Cowra, Bathurst. 530km from Gundagai (via Cootamundra) or 485 km from Yass.

Kiwi and I head to Muswellbrook via Campbelltown and Penrith. 515km

Hanso heads to Muswellbrook via Kangaroo Valley (lucky bastard) 520km, meeting up with me and Kiwi at Bowral or Campbelltown on the way. Or he can meet us in Goulburn adding 45km to his trip.

Day 3. We all head to Warwick 570km via Tamworth, Armidale, Tenterfield and meet up with TC, Mitch, Bruce, Binnsy, BigAl etc

Day 4. Look out Hervey Bay 454 km

Day 2 could be longer and Day 3 shorter if we stay at Tamworth (156km from Muswellbrook). Willow Tree is roughly in the middle of the two.

Anyone coming from the west could probably aim to hook up with us around Muswellbrook/Tamworth unless you fancy going through Broken Hill, Cobar or Bourke.

Those along the way can join up or "go their own way". Anyway, just food for thought. We could knock a day off and do it in bigger chunks of around 750km but I'll be more inclined to do that on the way home.

This sounds good Canberra. Happy to keep the longer days for return trip. I'll be keen on doing return in 2 - 3 days unless the group are really keen to do otherwise. Sounds to me like the BIG C (Canberra that is- far out fella's keep your mind out of the gutter) has a good handle on what we should be doin so if any of the others ant to add or make suggestions I reckon you sort it with C. I'll go with the flow.

Thanks for your effort in routing this out mate.

From this point on to make it easier for costing and formulating prospectus for promotion, accommodation, venues, rides etc will be based on 50 (rockets) motorcycles. Its a lot easier to increase things we need based on a definite confirmed participant increase.

By the end of next week I will have a draft fro the ride and event prospectus that I will be forwarding to local council, dealer, charity, etc.

Local council will be forward cost and insurance requirements fro use of any council land or property.

we will definitely need a $10 million public liability insurance cost about $350 plus any local government registrations fees, permits etc. I have been assured that as this will be a non profit charity event these fees and permits will be kept to a minimal cost and requirement.

That's why I have decided to base any application or purchases on the minimum number of 50 we can always increase numbers.

Cathy is arranging to speak to the vintage triumph collectors in the local area to try and get them on board for a bike show display. I think the oldest Triumph we seen on display last year was a 1928 model, the old fella even road it to the display.

I've got doctors appointments for diabetes the next three days after that I will read all comments and ideas put forward. I will then put them in a prospectus to distribute to arrange promotion, sponsorship, costing, venues etc

Marty

Hey Big M, Good luck at with the doctors

cheeky, i don't mind that at all...i'm not contributing an opinion as I will wear whatever the others choose but for what its worth, i like your latest suggestion and appreciate all the effort all the people have put in to coming up with a great patch for us.

what do ya mean if they get the ok from the bosses..

I told my wife i had to attend a conference targeted toward men who need to develop better ways of displaying their love and appreciation of their loved ones. The conference covers areas like, learning how to treat your loved one with total respect, developing communication skills and discussing with other men who are also infatuated by their loved ones on how much the one they love is so much better and nicer than any other loved on. we will share ideas and ways of doing more with our loved ones and develop knowledge and skills which will assist us in spending more time and passion toward our loved ones.

She thinks our relationships going to be great and has offered to pay for the conference......p.s. if anyone ever tells her how much I love my R3 and I'm talking about it, i'll be really pissed off.

lol, but on a serious note, i am boss and wear the pants in my house.................

WE will be passing thru Syd so you have no excuse we can link up, as far as permission just tell she has to come or you will have to chase all the bikini clad girls up there .... jus kiddin tell it is about time you both got away for a short holiday to QLD and if you have relations or freinds up there that also is a good excuse. That what I did My wifes Step mum who she does like and we haven seen since 07 lives near Bundy so after the get together we are goig to see her for a couple of days, we will be away from home for two weeks
