At Dealer Yesterday...

Back in the day the Triumphs were big fast bikes and the baddest bike on the planet was the VINCENT BLACK SHADOW and the BLACK LIGHTNING the 650 cc Triumphs were fast and cool looking and the NEW BOBBER is a RETRO HOT ROD with its 1200cc OHC WATERCOOLED ENGINE in that light bike its for sure a HARLEY KILLER and that makes it a fun bike reviving the old performance wars SO ILL bet a MODIFIED BOBBER will be a blast to ride and will torture those $45,000 HARLEY CVO SCREAMING EAGLE FACTORY HOT RODS and SPORTSTERS and those big fat slow azz INDIANS looks like a fun bike for a normal sized rider but NOT the 300+ lb ROCKET OWNERS that love that 2300 CC BEAST
I couldn't agree more.

There is a Triumph Bobber sitting in the garage right now. It is the wife's bike. At 5' nothing and, well I am not guessing at a women's weight as I like to sleep with both eyes closed, it is a great fit for her. The seat can be moved forward or back and with her boots she can flatfoot it She rides it with much more confidence than some others she has ridden. I am 5'10" and weight 190lbs ( 13 stone 8 I believe) and it probably only just fits me. With the 1200cc engine it does have some grunt. Not Rocket grunt of course but then nothing really does. Back in the day when the M1 was new you went from Leicester Forest East to the Blue Boar at Watford Gap , go in grab a napkin and get back in a certain time to make the ton up club. This was done on 650cc bikes as that was the largest capacity that was legal at the time. She was a Mod and her boyfriend was a Rocker. Strange girl but then she did marry me. Ok, enough. The Who are Rock Gods and the weather is nice so it's time to go riding, just got grab a quick fag first.

The 'retro' bike market is big business. I don't know if a Bobber will appeal to a twenty something. I have a 65 year old buddy who is thinking about getting a Bobber. Young kids like my son are more into sport bikes.
