Some motorcycle video snippets from a dozen years at the Bonneville Salt Flats

I dug the video with Black Oak Arkansas in the background was cool. Now if you had rap we may have a problem but music I grew up with is okay by me. I would still watch your videos if I didn't like the music, I would just turn it down.
Thanks and I understand his point but when taking pieces of video with music I can't cut the music out without cutting out all the sound. I could not find the original without the music.

I just was wondering out loud how fast it might go. I would like to end my Bonneville career on a good note. I'm sure there would be several obstacles to overcome. Since I don't have anything else to run the Kawasaki Z900RS SE might work well with a few tweaks.
Jerry,
Please keep me updated.
Depending on my ride to the Atlantic and parts in between this summer, I would like to be involved again with you.

That is an excellent question. I've ridden six bikes in several configurations including the Rocket 3 and on this course/conditions this Rocket 3 gave me more problems than all the other bikes and runs combined. I think with four more runs we could have had it dialed in, adjusted to the course conditions and modified how I needed to ride it enough to get to average 180 mph on that course.
Going from a light/short bike to a long/heavy machine has definitely messed with me. I'm getting used to them more now, and it seems like they will be quite a bit faster, but the learning curve is scary and steep.... at least for someone like me with no dirt or big bike experience.

Here's a fun vid of a 2019 BUBs record return pass on a really heavy nekkid bike... watch it on high quality and just look at the track in places. Camera had the gimbal stabilization on, and it still looked like a wild ride.

I ran the Bonneville Speed Week in 2019 and the course was pretty bad then maybe even worse, however the Bub (Speed Trials) don't groom the course nearly as well as the Speed Week folks do. I could see the lines running down about .5 to .75 inch running parallel which makes it even more difficult to move around.

I ran three bikes at a 2016 Speed Trials (Bub) event the course grooming was poor but not as bad as the 2019 Bub video you provided.

I think until a rider experiences riding fast over 3 to 4 miles of salt it is hard to explain the difficulty of going fast there. I know I thought would be easy the first time I rode the course in 2011.

It's very difficult to express how challenging it is out there, especially on light high horsepower machines. The combination of experience, machine reliability/repeatability, course conditions, and sometimes just dumb luck creates such a unique experience. There have been maybe one or two passes I've made in the last 6 years that ever left me feeling like I got it all right on a run... there always feels like there's an improvement to be had somewhere/somehow.

In 47 runs I think got it just right once in 2011, once again in 2013, 2016, and 2021. So 4 times out of 47 I thought I nailed it and of course one time I got nailed.😄😄

It looked like this year was about the worst salt on your videos. I can't imagine going that fast over rough salt, then throw in the areas of rain wet salt. From fun to terrifying. I think I'll stick to quarter mile runs. Thanks for sharing.

Some of my drag strip runs were kind of exciting too, maybe I'll do the same kind of video of drag strip runs.

Honestly even in the run where I crashed it was pretty routine . Even after got chucked off I was amazed more than anything. Then disappointed because I ruined a record run, smashed Rob's bike. Then pissed I lost my leathers. I think scared came into my thinking when I knew my wife was going to get a call about me going to a trauma center.
