The following is a full list of the changes I've made to my bars to get the perfect reach, height and width and the wrist angles just right:

TOP this one.
WOW! Now that's a whole new level of STUPID! Maybe we can encourage gangbangers to
to get bikes and set them up like this. We need more organ donors.[/quote]

Wonder if he be riding darkside???

I've always put a very high value on handling. Even on my touring bikes. It's part of what led me to go with the R3T when I was in the market for a touring bike. The one thing that I REALLY hated was the stock wheelbarrow handlebars on the R3T. They bend your wrists in an unnatural angle. I did a lot of research to find a suitable bend. What I ended up with fits pretty well, is comfortable on 500+ mile rides. What I discovered is that handlebars for Harley's springer front end has knurling spaced only 1/4" off from the riser spacing of the R3T. What I ended up using is called a "12 baby ape". Now keep in mind a Harley is a mid-sized bike compared to the R3T. So on the R3T it doesn't look like apehangers. It looks like a very reasonable touring bend. Jireh Cycles has these bars at a great price and your wrists won't be bent at a weird angle. Hope this helps.

Got any pictures?? Also maybe a link as I don't find the '12 baby ape' listed on their site.

Thanks

Hi Harry. Here see if this looks ok http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb...~S3ZT0TRPDO50820714017b~Z5Z5Z5~Z5Z5Z50000123a
It's labeled as 12" Ape Hanger (Springer fork). The reason you should use springer bars on R3T has to
do with the spacing on the knurling on the bars. Other HD risers are on 3 1/2" centers, Springers are, I think 4 3/4" centers. Which is super close to R3T center at 4 1/2". I had to do some other custom work because I have a full fairing with 4 speaker stereo system. Hope this helps. Somewhere I saw these advertised as "baby apes". If you can't view marked above....Jireh Cycles part #50-179 $39.99.
I will try to post pix, can it be done as JPG? It's raining here today, so it may take a few days to post some pictures. When I finially figure out how to post pictures easily, I'll show some of the stuff I've done to the bike. You can email me if you have some questions.

Thanks. Yeah, .jpg format should work fine. I tried a set of Thunderbird bars and while the bend was much better, the pull back was much less thus the reach was a bit too much. Did you have to change any cables to get these to fit?

I managed to find a couple of photos of the beast after I installed the 12" Springer Apes.
As you can see, they look like a touring bar on this bike. I had to modify a pair of Harley risers and fabricate a custom set of riser mounting shafts to make it all work, but this is a VERY COMFORTABLE bike. Truely intending to TOUR on this bike. Please take note of the custom CORBIN saddle. We drove in to Corbin and they made it to our wishes. Fits perfectly with the Tour pack and warp around backrest.
The 220W, 6 speaker Kenwood and Sony Marine deck are awesome on the road.
These photos were taken before I custom mounted 6 piston Tokico 'busa calipers w/custom stainless steel brake lines. It now stops from speed with the index finger only!
P.S. The stock bars (and cables) are so long, that the stock cable worked fine on length. The only thing I
did was had a Barnett cable made for it because they're much stronger and less prone to stretch.
It also helps to have a more consistent clutch feel.

Very nice job. Should have come from the factory like that. Thanks for the pics.

Did you have to change cables or brake lines?
