Where I can get a tall roadster screen cut down an inch or two in the MA area? I like the screen but as everyone knows, theyt are a bit on the tall side.
Do you have a dremel tool? If so, do it yourself. Use a grease pencil or sharpie to outline your cut, then use a cutting bur to cut it to the desired height and then a fine polishing wheel to smooth it out. Otherwise, you can take it to any glass/body shop and have it done.
take the sheld to any glass shop that does glass work on houses or buildings i've don this and looks like the factory did it . i all so had a friend cut his own with a jig saw and a fine tooth blade and then sanded the edge looks good !!
if you do it your self try not to get the blade or cutting wheel to hot. It starts to melt the plastic. When i shave aircraft windows i also tape the cut with 4 inch masking tape then draw the line on it. It makes it easier to see and gives some protection if you slip with the cutting wheel.
Like Daryl said, a Dremel works fine. I used a piece of cardboard to trace the line of the curve at the top, covered the area front and back with masking tape, using the cardboard I drew a line on the tape and cut away. Followed with a bit of sanding and it looks like it was made that way.
"The Wife" and I cut her 1200 Low Sporty screen down with a saber saw - 14 tooth minimum then sand it down. We liked the shape of the original cut - so just traced it on paper - then taped the trace the n" lower and "sytled"/free-handed the slope out to the edges.
It looks intimidating but is VERY easy to do. We taped everywhere the saber saw would touch!
