Anyone ever ridden a Suzuki Boulevard M109R? How would you compare it to Rocket 2.5L?

My old zx14 had a more comparable ride to the rocket i will think... at least till you hit 3 digits (i hear...)

This is an interesting thread, I was thinking about getting a 109 before the GT. So pleased with my choice. It appears the 109's were good in there day, but that was a few years ago & the GT is a much more modern bike with awesome power & brilliant brakes. (yeah, the rear was fixed)
The 109's are still a good choice. The fact that they haven't updated the bike means there are tons of aftermarket parts on the market compared to the rocket, and they had the time fixing small bugs from year to year making it very reliable. At the same time, I too am happy with my choice to trade in my 109 for the rocket but not because I look at it as an upgrade but more of a change in class. I don't agree with people who call the rocket a power cruiser...no...the 109 better fits that description...the rocket just like the diavel are in their own undescribable category.

I owned a 2015 M109R boss since new and just bought a 2025 Rocket R. I love both bikes. They are very different which means it's not fair to compare them. The suzuki is more of a true cruiser where the rocket is a hybrid IMO. The lack of updates for the 109 with it's analog everything makes me think it is a more reliable, old school type of bike but the rocket does put more smiles on my face when I ride it (mind you I just got it). At 5ft 9inches I am more comfortable on the rocket, where to make the 109 the right fit for me I needed handlebar risers, corbin seat etc. I don't have many miles under my belt with the rocket but known 109 issues myself and many other s have had are clutch cable issues, clunky transmission...hell you really feel every shift.... and subpar brakes.

Would I keep both if I could? yes
I believe you when you say the Rocket 3R is super comfortable for you — at 5'9", it must be a great fit!
I'm 6'4", and compared to the M109R, the Rocket definitely feels smaller and more compact. M109R was a perfect fit for me, did not have to change anything on it.
But I rode 800 km on Rocket 3R this weekend over two days and didn’t have any major issues. I just feel that the foot pegs could be a few centimeters lower, and the seat could be pushed back and higher a bit — that would make it just right for me.
And as we all know, the seat on the Rocket 3R is quite hard. I don’t normally wear cycling underwear :), but I used a pair with gel padding just for this 800 km trip — and the difference was noticeable. No sore butt!
So I googled later and decided to order motorcycle-specific underwear (Adventure option for 3R) from motoskiveez. Maybe someone else is dealing with the same issue and bike trousers really helped, so hope skiveez will do even better.
