Anybody heard of this exhaust?

so far the best sounding exhaust for R3 bar none is that ugly pipe setup on the black carbon japanese R3 .now that was a sweet sound it is still on youtube and somewhere on this forum I listen to it once in a while ...music for the ears!!

I actually think it looks pretty cool (but way to much black for me )
Problem is, like Tomcat mentioned, seems like you're creating a lot of excess pipe and bends and that's usually not productive.
Would love to hear how is sounds though.

Sorry, but I reckon it's the ugliest concoction ever.

I'm with Ruzzle butt ugly if I owned one I would hope it would be fast so no one could catch up with me and look at it. the more bends in the exhaust or intake trac the more it lows down the flow of the gasses/air. The slower it is the slower you are. Now of course if you have something forcing air thru it help reduce the loss but there is still a loss.
but a couple potatoes wrapped in foil with a steak on the header means you won't go hungry:D

edit my typing sucks since I broke my shoulder. Not that it was great before but it really sucks now.

To be honest, I really like the way they formulated the chrome and ceramic bits, but yeah I agree that big knuckle shaped hunk of metal in front of the left knee is pretty clunky.

I have been trying to find an exhaust that has decent performance and aesthetics and it's a tough matchup. The carps obviously have the performance but I just don't love the look of them, the jardines look pretty good (I dig the black slashcuts for the roadster) but I've seen some gripe about their fit and finish and to be honest I don't love their headers. The staintune 3-1-2 is pretty but I'd still have to find somebody to make me headers (seems silly to go to all this trouble and just leave stock headers on there) and then I'd have to pay to get it blacked out.

(here's the staintune Link Removed and I like the promises of sound etc, but it looks like their full kit is just the silencers and collector on the stock headers and I was hoping to open up the headers at least a little)

I think at this point, since I only plan to buy one exhaust, hopefully for the lifetime of the bike, I need to find a custom shop that can fabricate something for me I'll love. I'm sure some of you have suggestions.

The other option is just to buy the jards and save a few thousand bucks, just ride the bike and enjoy. I may go that route but I'd like to see what my other options are like.

Yeah, I'm planning the Carpenter package, but I'm just not liking their pipes, looks wise. Jardines seem the best compromise for looks and performance, but mine came with a slight exhaust leak at the forward header (still got to fix that), and I ride all year, mine are covered in surface rust after only one winter. Thinking of either ceramic coating the Jardines, or breaking down and going with the Carpenter SS pipe, problem is I don't think they have heat shields available.

Carpenter package on hold for a bit, want to wait til after RAA, plus my Sprint is down with a busted crank, picking up a Daytona motor for it Monday, can't have 2 bikes out of commission.

You should get a hold of Sam aka Travel guy he has a stainless seel flange like he used on the predator pipe which can be used up tp 1.75 pipe. I think he was asking 325 bucks for it. That would be a good place to start. I would buy it off him but he and I have not got along in a while so I figure he would tell me to blow off. you cann get a buch of pipe stuff from Burns stainless and whip up something original.

For my Roadster I would just like a header to replace the manifold that would slope down and install into my TORS mufflers. I don't need the whole **** system that costs around $1500 just the header.
