Any issues with 2011 Rocket Touring??

It's the amber "ABS" warning light inside the spedo that comes on when you turn the thing on. exactly like the ABS warning light you'd see on a car's dash.

And although I think that $10k is worth it, it is NOT a competitive price AT ALL. If you absolutely must have a rocket NOW and you can afford it, you won't regret it. If you can wait, definitely wait for a better deal...

Thanks. I may get a Rocket but I doubt it will be that one. I would try and get it for 7K and not pay a penny over $7500. I doubt they would come down that much.

I dunno, give that dealer a whirl, Harley dealers don't like to keep non HD bikes in the store and they will sell them as quick as they can. I he knows you are interested he may be ready to deal. Offer him like 8000 out the door, meaning for 8000 you get the bike, and your tax title and tags are paid, and you are out a flat 8 grand. No ups, no extras....it can be done.

ABS:

The light in question is the amber one inside the KPH ring, here between the fuel gauge and speedometer needles, and it is labeled "ABS"

And below is the ABS sensor ring on my bike.

Welcome Jamie,

Just some random thoughts as I sit here.

First off, you could do a lot worse than a R3. Second you can probably do a lot better on the price by watching and waiting. I have a feeling the HD place gave the previous owner an inflated trade in in order to move him to a HD and are now trying to recoup their money. Just the first thing I thought of.

I don't believe it will have ABS, IIRC the R3T didn't start getting ABS until 2013 and then not all of them were equipped.

I can't think of any real issues with the 2011 you need to be worried about.

I am sure other will be along with their thoughts soon.

Right on the money. In 2010 I rode in on a American bonneville (05) with over 100,000 miles and rode out on a Fatboy. The Dealership trade in was $4,500 dollars.

The biggest problem i have with my 2010 touring is not wanting to get off it, i even dug a path through through the ice in front of my house last week just to get to some dry road to go for a ride, **** it felt good, winter is to long

I shovel the snow off of the back driveway with an eye to how it will melt in the spring so as to make the earliest possible exit.

I think you can find a better deal. I just bought a 2011 off of Craigslist with 4100 miles on it for $8500, and it had upgraded suspension, aftermarket pipes, heated grips, a nice piece of luggage for the luggage rack, and a cover. I've never really cared for cruisers or touring bikes, but I love this bike! You won't regret getting one.

My 2011 doesn't have ABS.

Hi everyone. I am currrenty considering buying a Rocket. I have been looking at the Roadster primarily. I prefer the looks of the naked bike. I planed to put Viking bags and a windshield for trips and leave it stripped down most of the time.

The touring model was not as aestheticly appealing to me.

HOWEVER .... I stopped in to a HD dealer today who carries a bunch of used bikes from all the manafactuers and they have a Rocket Touring. It looks well used but pretty clean fit the age and miles. I am not sure but I think I may like the touring.

2011 with 27,000 miles. They want $9999.00. The price seems a little high since you can find the same bike new for about 13K.

Does anyone know if this bike has ABS? Any issues I should be wary of? What if anything should I be on the look out for?

I plan on giving it a test ride next week.

Thanks,

Jamie.
