The switch at the back side of the head for oil pressure supplys a ground when there is no oil pressure, and opens the circuit when there is greater than ~ 5 psi.

Usually the wiring is 12vdc but the ECU control circuits use 5vdc. I think the temp and pressure used 5vdc switching to earth as above.
