Any advice on a 2009 R3 tour review?

You should be able to get the manuals directly from Triumph. If your dealer is a Triumph dealer he should be able to look them up in the computer. There's a nice pleather folder that comes with it, that would also be nice to have.
I am going to try to hunt down the previous owner and check to see if he still has them. My current bike (up for sale now) has all documentation for 16 years, the owner's manual, and factory shop manual. Seems to me that these would be valuable commodities when it comes to selling a see bike. No Triumph dealer within 300 miles of me. On the Yamaha forum, we had a link so anybody could download the Yamaha factory shop manual. That helped a lot. I plan on learning to do my own maintenance and learning more about that spring y'all have been talking so much about. I will probably replace it anyway "just cause".

I got a manual from this site. One of the guys has a link to it.
I would love to connect with him. I have a suspicion that the one I am to buy has an aftermarket exhaust and perhaps an intake mod. I always hate buying a bike that has been "tweaked" because unless you know the owner personally, you may be getting some problems. I think though that there is enough wisdom, experience, and brain power here on this forum to get me steered in the correct direction.

I am excited about this bike for a few reasons . . . first, it ain't a Harley. I like Harleys but there is only ONE MODEL that I can fit on, the road glide. That one is the top priced model, for good reason. It's the best they got. Also, the Rocket is just unique. I learned on my uncle's 650 Bonnie back in 1969 and was hooked. Those years were "all things Britt cool" years. No desire to ride a Bonnie now, just way too small but the R3 is held my attention for some time now and I think I will pull the trigger soon.

Buy it, you have all the right reasons in mind.
If this one is as represented, I will for sure buy it. A dealer in NOVA is taking a nice 2015 tour in on trade in another couple weeks but he will price it at $12,900 (kinda rich of you ask me) so as far as I can tell, the only difference between that one and the 2009 tour I am looking at is that the 2015 has ABS and well . . . ABS ain't worth another $6,900 in my opinion.

I don't have ABS, and I reckon it's only good for those slicky ass Metzler's that come stock. Bear that in mind when you get yours, and get some tires with some stickum and you will never need ABS.

Ears cleaned, dewaxed and open . . . so which tire?

Well I am using Bridgestone Exedra Max's and very pleased. Others seem happy with Avon's. Of course this could turn out like a "which oil is best" thread....we all know which to avoid...but which to use could stir up a hornet's nest!

My roadstar came with dunlops back in 99 BUT my first replacement set SUCKED. Got em on sale from the dealer then learned why, lol. One of the tires (oops, I gotta start spelling it TYRES) was literally out of round. I made them take them off and replace them with mtezs. Never had a problem with the big elephants, ran the me880's for years, never a problem.

The metzlers just wear too fast on Rockets, and are slick as snot if they aren't very well treaded.
