Another 'won't start' post but I have tried...

2007 Rocket 111 'Special Edition'

Everything was OK when I bought it and it lives on a Triumph battery minder (new Motobatt battery less than 2 years ago).
It was fine but recently had a few issues with starting (starter not engaging) then it got worse and the clock sweep/dash lights started playing up. Now I get nothing except the normal headlights etc.
I've installed the ignition switch relocation kit from Just Rockets.
I've installed the starter solenoid kit from Just Rockets.
I've replaced the starter relay (right hand side by flasher relay).
I've removed the Meta alarm/immobiliser that I thought was causing the problem, and fitted a bypass plug from Abacus Alarms. It was old and I believe the battery in it was dead (made some random fizzing noises).
Fuses are all good. Battery connections are all good.
I've disconnected the battery for half an hour.

When I switch the ignition on, the lights, indicators etc work as usual but no clocks/idiot lights. The fuel pump doesn't kick in and there are no signs of life in the ignition system.

Under the left hand side panel are 3 relays, plus another one, which does click with the ignition switch. The wiring from this goes over to the right side of the bike, into the loom near the ECU. Not sure what it is.

I've attached a photo of the 12 way socket that has the alarm bypass plug in. Most of the wires appear to have been cut off and removed which makes me think the bypass plug is not doing anything (the wires don't match the few pins in the plug). I still think the alarm/immobiliser is the problem and the bypass plug may not be doing anything.

i just finished helping a guy that has an 05 rocket and one of the experts cut up the wiring. what a mess.
that connector with all the wires cut is not the factory alarm connector.
the guy i helped had zero mechanical/electrical experiance i hope you have some.
we were able to comunicate through (google meet) phone him showing me the wiring systems ect that i needed to look at.
the way that we need to start is to bypass all the ignition/keyless stuff and wire straight from possitive battery (for checking purposes) to the engine management relay.
so you will need a clamp, a fuse 20 amp, and a wire about 3feet long 12 or 14 gauge so we can clamp on battery and hook to engine management relay

Hello TURBO200R4. That's a very generous offer, thank you.
I'll order the parts I don't have and get back to you asap. I have a good mechanical knowledge and some basic electrical.
I have a multi-meter and wiring tools if needed.

In the meantime, is there another 12 way connector that I should be connecting the bypass plug to? The one I used is under the tank.
Anything I can check, just let me know.

Well for now lets just come in at the middle of the system and start there and see what happens
then do checks from that point.

A little tape removal has revealed that the alarm wiring (8 wires) have been spliced into the main loom underneath the tank. The 4 wires in the connector may be unused as 4 have been cut off at the alarm connection. The 8 wires are all black but I could identify them with the meter if needed. I'm happy to bypass the alarm or buy a new one. It won't be plug and play unfortunately.

don't quote me on this but i think that is the connecter that someone used to bypass the ignition switch.
i would say leave all these wires and connecter alone till we find the problem. its going to be hard enough with out making new problems.
once we can start and run then if the bypass does not work then we will deal with what ever system you have to bypass the ignition switch.
probably going to need at least 3 jumper wire assemblys.
and by the way that is not the triumph alarm bypass.

this link to the electrc circuit is what we will use to refference what we will be doing.

jump from battery to number 8 or on relay to #87

#42 is where the triumph alarm is and there is an alarm bypass plug that has two looped wires in a plug that takes the place of the triumph alarm system.

That diagram is not to bad it is the cutting and modified portion that may be a real problem for anyone.

Very similar fault from a guy here in NZ....the loom from gauges that goes into main loom...he cut that open & found a broken wire where one purple wire went into 2 purple wires.
