Another chain tensioner question

You will also need a new gasket for the clutch cover. About $10.
Good point. The cam cover gasket can be reused if it is not to stiff so to be safe you might want to order one of them also. Now for something not many people do. which is take the sump pan down. you would not believe all the crap in the screens from original assembly machining swarf is the bulk of it but pulling it and cleaning it also lets you know if your having any other problems. IE bearings going out. the more plugged the screens are the harder it is for oil to return back to the tank. its not a very expensive gasket. And knowing things are clean going back together is just a good safe feeling.

Scott, I notice you haven't mentioned your mod to the tensioner so that it can't slip back on the ratchet. Is that something you still advocate, as I did mine and I like the added security it offers.
It would also be another good thing to make a sticky as already mentioned.

OH ya If I were Triumph I would incororate it in the OEM tensioner. BUT YOU MUST REMEMBER THIS IS NOT TO FORCE ADJUSTMENT!!!!!! It is a SAFETY MEASURE ONLY!!!!using it to force adjustment will break the guide and create a world of problems.. If the APE manual tensioner had a larger head on it I would recommend it I do the mod for it and the guide for Carpenter Racing. IN fact If one was to use the APE and kept it adjusted right you would not be replacing the chain for years. I might switch over this time. Myself I also did a mod version for the auto tensioner thinking I am a lazy basturd and would forget to adjust the manual one. I have another mod in the works to increase the life span of the chain while using the autotensioner. but have not put it in play yet as I am waiting on Special Special head bolts for the Falcon. Gracie being a 05 will need a new chain like yours does just because she was a early model so I will be experimewnting on how to change the guide and tensioner without releasing the chain tension or timing. I am stuchk in the should I add power to her zone right now or just tune her with a Carpenter Pipe and let her roll. I keep bouncing back and forth saying I should keep a stocker but then when I twist the throttle I miss the Horse Power. Personally If I were in the states I would consider the Carpenter Package. If I were in OZ I would be talking to Nev. The most important thing you can do for your bike is make sure the right people work on it especially if you adding HP. Oh and If I were in NZ I would be talking to Stefan R34ME. These guys know what they are doing and stand by their workmanship. Not to mention they are **** good :)

I order from NCY out of California ask for andy he gives a discount. You will also need the cam alignment tool to do this . While your at it you should check you shims on the cam buckets. (check them before you release the cam tensioner)
