So I have a small 5x7 inch Android tablet, how do I know if it can be used with Tune ECU, or do I need a computer to interphase with the ECU on the bike,o_O

thanks

Go to the Play Store on the tablet and search for TuneECU. If it comes up in the search, you should be able to use it.

Make sure to read the descriptions before buying. Sometimes apps show in the list but the description will say not compatible.

You will need the LonElec cable that comes with the mini USB otg cable. Sorry I don't have a link to it.

It SHOULD work fine if it's available to download. That said, the last phone I had should have been compatible, but it took about three updates before it was. I ran it on a cheesy tablet just fine though, and I threw that tablet in a saddlebag for on the road tuning!

You may need to enable the OTG (on the go) adapter so it will interface your android tab and the bikes computer ( so they can talk to each other. You can use also use a Bluetooth wireless interface to hook up also, but with limited functions. Lots of websites and videos on line to help you do this.

Thanks for the help, I was able to download tune ecu to my android, will add the OTG and try hooking up, any other reccommendations before I take the leap???o_O

thanks

I have the 5X7 Andriod Samsung tab - Tuneecu app will work on it as you know since you have already obtained it - Use This cable from Lonelec:
Diagnostic Interface for TuneECU Motorbikes
Your tablet will recognize the Lonelec cable automatically
When the program asks you if you want to allow bluetooth, choose: NO - it does it's business thru the cable, not bluetooth - if you choose yes for bluetooth you will not be able to install tunes

Thanks ETIII, I've got the cable already, been getting ready to hook it up, I'll review the info on here and give it a go just to see what it tells me, not doing a tune just yet, will look at tb sync and tps just to get started and comfortable, and I will not choose blue tooth, thanks for that tid bit!!

I have also found there are "Tune ECU Lite" and "Tune ECU" android versions.
Not sure of the differences . . .

Hey Tex, Did I see somewhere that with Androil that the loading of the drivers isn't necesary? Playing on the computer today cause it's raining buckets today, a nor-easter as they say.

thanks

From *my* experience, the Android version will NOT/NOT do the most important things to most of us: will NOT/NOT allow writing to the ECU a new map.

I don't know what else it won't do, but at least that. At least that was a year ago, and I was disappointed I had thrown away $12 -- then I looked at it as a small contribution for what we can do with the free version.

If I read Tex's note correctly, it implies that you can load tunes if you don't choose bluetooth, I believe others have said, although I can't find it currently that Android didn't requre the drivers, probably wrong there, that's why I asked the question. Will be playing for the first time tomorrow, trying to get my ducks in a row. Watched a video on U tube using the Android, and he didn't load a driver, or maybe that was a step he had already done and the video didn't include it, so,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Thanks
