I have not taken any time to work on this trunk yet. Figured it would be a winter project. Just saw one like it on a Facebook post so I messaged the gentleman asking what he new about the top box? Apparently it is a rare Harley Trunk for a early 1970s FLH.

As I said. I have never worked with resin and fiberglass before.

Nor do I - but I know a man who does. Holes - yes use glass. He suggests you use Carbon Fibre and/or aramid fibres for reinforcing - You'll need less material/resin/weight for the same strength. Also for the inside final layer look for glass tissue.
