An R+D Thread - Different instruments.

Just watched your vid and you obviously stole 'My look' now outdated.;):p:D:rolleyes::whitstling::whitstling::whitstling: I used to live in a few of those long sleeve T's about 10 years ago and still have a few.
Nope - it's not a long sleeve T. It's a fairly high-tech antimicrobial mid layer hunting jacket from Hillman Hunting in Bulgaria. We were angling to be the importers for Spain. Not bad gear - but overpriced.

I thought of you when I saw an R3 Std instrument cable loom on eBay today.
2005-2010 Triumph Rocket III Classic INSTRUMENT HARNESS SPEEDOMETER TACHOMETER | eBay
Just looked it over - With the post and the dammed Customs - I'll be better off buying one new from Triumph here via my mate. My mate would knock the VAT off - and would give me his trade price. I'll have a chat with him next Thursday.

For those in dire need like @scot in exile - I have not forgotten you. Currently waiting on the ruddy mount.
Also I seem to have messed up my eyes (swollen) - so I am not allowed much screen time.

Update - The KOSO mount arrived late last night. It is a far more solid affair than photos might imply. 2mm thick steel.

I am off to use a bench at my mates workshop today to do a quick service prior to my UK trip. Will take a closer look at the instruments tomorrow.

Oh Bollocks! - had it all wired up for the road test - using a Car lighter plug. The Socket is live and works with the plug that's usually in (Black Box Camera) - the plug has continuity and all cables are fine but I cannot get the bloody things to work together. :banghead:

I have to take the Guzzi for it's MoT today. No reason why it should not pass. But it's time.

Assumption correct Tony - the Roadster gauges are CANBUS so many of the signals into it (incl the speed and rpm) are digitally encoded.

I have not tried the Roadster but on other Triumph Keihin ECU CANBUS models of that generation, the bike will not start without the gauges being connected.
Can someone perhaps test/validate that?
(If the bike WILL start without the gauges being connected, it would still be possible to connect after-market non-CANBUS gauges, but wiring would be different (and not everything available at the Main Harness Instrument Connector Interface)
Just went and checked one of my R3R's. Started Bike and disconnected both gauges = Still Runs.
Shut it off and WONT START unless at least the speedo (Left Gauge) is connected.
Thats a shame...

Okey Dokey.

First run in use. I tried to show the difference in colours - BUT there was too much daylight.
I cannot find a better place to fit a camera for now either.

Be warned this is 5 minutes of boredom. But It works surprisingly well.

As the Land Rover is an OLD diesel - I ran the Tacho signal off the same GPS speed sender - So the Tacho is showing kph and teh speedo shows mph.
