Yeah, you are crazy. You bought the biggest bike on the planet. Soooo, get the Vmax. Maybe or maybe not. Your 05 is worth a lot to you, but in the states I don't think it will bring 7k. Maybe a solid 5. Good luck, and enjoy the season. Maybe an old softail or anything.

Oh wow that big of a difference sounds like I’ll be better off just doing up my 05 and perhaps getting a fun second bike like the VMax I guess I’ll wait still April when I get back from my trip in Hawaii and see where The guy is on my Rocket if he didn’t do much more I’ll get a second bike.

My thoughts...
First off you need a bike to ride...just cos its what you love right?
Secondly, if you get another breed of bike, would you feel ok riding that?...only you will know in your heart of hearts...
Then, The value of the 05 dosn't matter in the end...its your memories that are worth gold here...
If it were me and it isnt...i would buy a late model R3 ....you will add stuff to it cos it's what we do...and you will love doing it...you will go out to it in the evening and look at it...you will sit on the bog and think about it...trust me!...good luck now!!

The new Indian Scout is a stylish fast little package, go check one out. Take the wife and let her tell you what she thinks of it.

I still like the "two are better than one" idea but I just got sugared up at dinner and wondered:

1. Are you saying you won't have your bike because the painter will take all riding season to paint the tank/fenders/side panels or is there more to the job?
2. If its just the tins couldn't you just put them back on and have him or someone else paint them next winter?

3. I would suggest trying to find temporary tins to install for the season and resell them after he's finished painting yours, but they are harder to find these days. EBay has a few
tanks but they are badly mangled. Aftermarket fenders are pretty reasonable though.

4. Find a detailer to vinyl wrap them (100's of colors/styles available) for $300 or so (??) and have them painted in a year or two or whenever you get tired of the wrap.

I like the newer style of Scout seems to be at least $13,000 and up not sure if I want to pay that much for second bike.

Nomy bike is at metal shop getting a total customized, but he’s just fitting me in when he has time but he’s very busy and not working on mine much needs it to be fitted

This is what he done on my tank so far for those who have not seen it.

Not sure you understand this is another tank being customized that one side with vent is all made out of aluminum that is big enough to cover my large 4040 k&N filters he’s going to make same cover for other side and make my othe side of tank larger to hold more gas, this way both sides of tank will look semetrical.
And that scoop is also part of the tank so it will also hold gas.
When this custom gas tank is finished it should hold a extra two gallon about and will be painted to replace my stock tank.
