A year with the Rocket III Touring

Congrats Crazyman! I too crossed my one year anniversary on Jan 01. Got just under 12,000 on the R3T. Still have the warranty ME880s on the bike. Hoping for 10k out of them. My lonest ride to date about 350 miles. Custom solo saddle, Shad Trunk, Brakeway throttle lock, heated grips, Triumph 7" taller windscreen. Garmin 1490T 5" screen GPS. My bike's so dirty from riding in the Pacific Northwest rain I won't photograph it until I wash it in Spring. Here's an older photo with all the stuff.

Would I buy it again? - No For that kind of money I'd have a different bike. Times have changed. I've made it rideable but mileage sucks. My Smart car gets mileage that good. :)

Again, congratualtions on a stellar year of safe riding.

Bob, seriously? For the money, what else would you buy and why?!?!?!

Sharp bike Bob. I'd be proud to ride next to you, although it's not the look for me.
So are you still missing your BMW?
I'll be doing photos of my plain old black standard with fly screen and leather saddles as soon as the 5 feet of snow melts, maybe before.

I'd take any Rocket over any other bike. The combination of unique looks and stellar performance has me hooked. Vroom Vroom!
With that kind of milage on the tires, I can see why you're not impressed with the Rocket. You're not riding like most of us, not that there's anythying wrong with that.
Hell on Wheels, that's for me.

iN FAIRNESS TO bOB IT PISSES DOWN IN HIS NECK OF THE WOODS MOST OF THE TIME SO HE IS PROBABLY TIP-TOEING AROUND

oops

caps lock

most of the time...

I cringed when I heard electric car crapola...

They are all over the beach here now in St. Pete, FL - little cheap 6 seater unsafe pieces of crap? Tuk tuks in Thailand make these buggers look like cardboard...

(((where tf is ralph nader, the 'hero'???

nowhere - because he was and is a paid shill of the automotive industry and folks that control it, the same folks that allowed japan to take over 40 years ago, allowed (OK let's say caused in al,l cases) detroit and gm to fail, and allowed china to take over all usa manufacturing over the last 20 years...))

plastic pieces of crap buggers that cannot even do 30 mph in a 35mph zone, like little bloody cockroaches, snarling up the traffic and causing problems..

Of course this is how are masters wish things to go - us plebs in windowless cheep POS electric cattle carts, like foookin noddy cars from enid blyton ffs!!! - that come fromm China, designed to fail in 3 years, whilst THEY swish around in built like tanks failsafe LearJets and Royces', well, I have my Rocket III, and it is a bit of primo Vs up to the PC brigade, and I will hang on to it as long as possible, until it is legislated off the road, which in my HO will be fairly soon, 5 years +++, and even then I will take it out without the mandatory gps locator/speed watcher ...

bah

humbug!

I appreciate your post, but you need to stop keeping it in so tight, bad for the blood pressure.
You need to let go once in a while and really say what think. Put it all out there, we can handle it.

Like they say, when REAL motorcycles are outlawed, only outlaws will ride. I'm in it for the long haul. "From my cold dead hands. . ."

I'll be in the Gainsville area in 5 or 6 years, hope it's not as bad as St Petes.

You're right, I guess going back and forth from the UK to FL every six months gives me a perspective most don't see - things are changing fast - in St Pete there was only ONE electric cattle cart a few months ago, and I know the guy personally who drives it, a barman normally - last few days they are all over the place!!! I'ce counted at least 5-6-7 or more different ones - thing is the govt have more or less made them free with a 6k tax break - they are totally unsafe IMHO but the govt encourage them, just goes to show what they think about the plebs, the useless eaters as Kissinger called us - anyhoos I have let it all out and written a novel, a conspiracy novel of sorts, if you are interested you can check it out here:

have fun if you do :O)
