I want white with bronze headers/exhaust/wheels etc

The hydroformed headers are double-layer stainless steel. A regular application of WD40 will see them gradually go 'bronze' in colour. Especially after washing the bike and before a long ride. Not too much WD-40 - just enough to wet it, applied uniformly without missing spots. I have added two fibre washers at each screw behind the heat shields on the headers, which helps keep them cooler, and I do not apply WD40 to them. So, the headers are gradually turning darker, but the heat shields are not.

Not a fan of all-black everything on these bikes, but hey, each to their own

After speaking with a wise and much older rider (than my 52 years) he told me his experience and what it was like to keep a blacked out bike clean(especially the pipes) and that any customization that isn’t black will stick out, I bought the Silver Ice and Storm Grey GT.

You sure the old guy didn't talk you out of the Blacked out Rocket because he wants it. Old dudes can be very convincing and extremely conniving.

The old fella may have been hustling me! I would love to see a man in his 70’s ripping up the streets on a Black R. I found the brushed aluminum was very well finished, did not look too much like chrome. I think i saw on a Triumph site that the Silver Ice & Storm Grey colour combination was an option. My dealer gave me the same price as the standard R model and in the sun, just seems to look classier. With the black carbon fibre fenders and exhaust shields i ordered, they will stand out nicely against the silver. I Hope!

A chap with a ZX-14 trolled at least one VMAX forum a couple of years ago. He claimed that he was 84 then and offered to kick any 1700 cc Max's 4rse with his 1400 cc Kwacker any day of the week. I am a young 62 now, and I could well see myself trolling a discussion or two if I can still get it up at 84. The front wheel, of course (-:

Considering I paid my deposit on a new red R in November and Triumph haven't built it yet, I'll be ****ed if I'm waiting another 6 months to have a me too blacked out bike...
