2020 Rocket 3 TFC details released!

Back in the day, muscle cars were under-spec'd or de-tuned (same effect) as well to help keep insurance prices down (so the story goes). My '70 GS455 is factory rated at 350HP with the upgraded "Stage 1" model advertised at 360HP... whereas I've read the real HP of a Stage 1 is closer to 380-420HP. Of course back then testing was gross vs. net. I've not had mine on a dyno so I don't know how many extra ponies I may be packing...

There you go, look at the water around you.

There is some negativity about the price and that seems to be a common theme on here. Why does it cost so much more?

Does it really contain that much value in upgraded components? I mean if you bought all these goodies to upgrade a base model would the money be there?

Are they just pricing it up there to discourage the average buyer and go for the wealthy and elite?

Does the limited number actually add value?

I have actually wondered why the Rockets were so cheap. I think I know why now.

Well I'm getting one....
Two things I'm not terribly impressed with is the FBW (i guess for the cruise control) and WHY WHY WHY keep the same rear size tyre when there are more tyre choices using a larger diameter wheel.
Good for you. I bet you will love it. Finally the six gears and a modern version of a bike that has been tech deficient for years. It looks worlds better than the current Rocket. Is that the same wheel size as on the Roadster? What is your concern with that selection?

I wonder how easy it will be to do a stage one type tune? I hope there is room for it to grow.

You're gonna end up wearing the face off old Ben Franklin you keep double handing that deposit.

Oooohhhh you don't wanna do that! Can you imagine the hissy fit when he finds out you have number 74? Priceless
I wish Sonny would have pushed forward with his dreams and I hope he does not regret backing out but as his interest has waned mine has increased. If I get that # I’ll take a pic and he can frame it and put it next to his X.

Believe the bike is over priced. Seriously have just about given up on looking at new bikes.
I suppose it will depend on how many others, who have placed a deposit, are just as disappointed as you are. This will mean a lot of cancellations and a fair number of bikes just sitting in showrooms gathering dust....until the price comes down perhaps?? It's an awkward situation as nobody has seen the bike in the flesh, tested it, had it on a dyno, or been able to make a comparison with the existing model or the actual statistics. Is it smaller, less comfy, under powered in comparison to the older model, fuel efficiency, etc... A waiting game for the man and his wallet!

did you say 450bhp?? or was it a typo
