I purchased my GT a month and a half ago with 25K miles. The 20K mile maintenance was NOT done and wanted to do it myself (not valve adj).
Changed all the fluids as shown in the schedule. Next was replacing the air filter with a "DNA" high flow and spark plugs. Fuel tank needed to be removed.
By far, the most difficult part of this job was removing the connector on the fuel rail. Had downloaded the PDF tech manual and read (pg 799 step 9) you need
to slid the "double check clip by easing the latch from the connector and squeeze the sides to remove". Sounds simple

Not so much......
1) The connector is difficult to get to because of its location behind the Master Switch.
2) I mistakenly assumed the "latch" was what secured the connector to the fuel rail.
3) The "latch" is NOT a latch. It's only a cover and has nothing to do with mechanically securing/releasing the connector from the fuel rail.
4) Again, the "latch" is ONLY a cover for the release "buttons" on both sides of the connector. You can't see these "buttons" because of the location.
5) Tried using my fingers to release the "buttons". No way. Tried to carefully use a pair of needle nose vice grips to press the buttons
enough to release the connector. No amount of cursing, twisting and pulling would release the connector. Argh
6) Finally got it to release by using some "picks" with 90deg ends to press the "buttons" enough on both sides of the connector.

Side Note: When trying to release the connector, I had tried twisting, rocking, and pulling the connector free. This is before
discovering the "buttons" release. Installed the tank and test started the bike. Fuel started spraying all over the top of the motor. Connector
not properly seated? Seemed to be coming from the top of the tank. Not sure until I removed the tank to discover the banjo bolt came loose
from all the twisting and pulling. I applied blue "thread locker" and torqued to the specified 15nm to not allow this to happen again.

See attached pics of connector removed from bike. The white dots are what I added to high light the "buttons" and pincer jaws.

Hoping this will prevent broken connector/fuel rail and frustration........ Larry

Be sure to remove the fuse for the fuel pump and turn the bike over for a few seconds to remove (most) fuel from the line. Yes, I also found pinching the buttons with my fingers impossible.
