So you have arrived at last. Where are all the photos of the location to help me understand exactly what I'm missing???? Unfortunately for you all, I have rather a lot of spare time on my hands at the moment so will be watching avidly for the updates!

Not a roundabout in sight!!!

This is a massive state and one must be prepared to spend numerous hours on desolate roads like this to avoid major highways or take shortcuts.

I like the openness and lack of traffic and play my iPod a lot of the time.

That's the sort of scenario and landscape I've only ever seen in the films, and NO roundabouts! Beautiful weather just to make the day.

It's when you watch these videos that you start to appreciate just how fast 65 MPH really is!!

Oh we even occassionally got down to less than 65 in some of the real tight twisties.

That's the sort of scenario and landscape I've only ever seen in the films, and NO roundabouts! Beautiful weather just to make the day.

You should come out for a visit. I was going through my old ride photos and saw quite a few of the wide open west, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Arizona and Texas and got myself a bit depressed because it's been so long since I've ridden those roads.

We also have some great old western, or what one would call "cowboy" towns. They are all over the west and southwest, ghost towns too. I recall a ride from San Antonio, TX back to the Pacific Northwest and a Texas friend said that I'd find the most difficult thing about riding in Texas is getting out of Texas. How true

And then there is the Grand Canyon. I had to climb over a safety rail and then jump to get out to that rock platform. It was a long way down and back when I could still run, jump and was foolish enough to do such things.

Most likely because you will run out of gas between towns they can be so far apart
