Speaking of cooking are there any plans for cooking out at Leakey?

Do any of the young guns cook?

Both of mine do, they have both worked food service and were raised in the BBQ business, I had multiple BBQ places for 25 years. They’ve got it going on in that department and I’m sure will be glad to pitch in as much or as little as is needed, as would I, all you have to do is say the word, we are used to cooking for big groups.

He said if you weren't showing up to bbq, then there was no reason to show up.

Oh, I thought there was a bbq restaurateur showing up to take care of that.....

Apparently “Cheff Clint” will handle the food more comfortably without us. I’ve thought about it since the “restaurateur” post, and subsequent replies, and I realize since I started posting last year the only people Ive met In person are sonny and Skydog. I’m an outsider.
I signed up early, I promised my sons we would do this together and I’ve got deposit down, so we will be there. To make things more comfortable for the Cheff we will keep to our own and make our own arrangements for food.

For real Mad Dog, these are special people full of friendship and love of others. I was planning to bring some food since I plan to get there early on the 8th. Anyone is welcome to come and join me early. I have a reserved cabin with two rooms. It was a gift for our British friend GOC but he got side tracked. I also planed to bring a big pork loin to roast and cook a rice pot to go with that for one night. The beans you were going to prepare would fit right in plus they are good breakfast food if there are any left. I might bring some chicken leg quarters or what ever looks good when I go shopping. This is my 65 birthday and I'm throwing a little party For My Friends.

Breaking bread is a sacred thing. Steel leads the prayer and the cooking is half the fun. Come and bring your sons. You will be welcome in Peace and we will smoke the pipe.

Bull****. Have a feeling you can all cook. When we all get to Leakey am going to make more than a point to introduce you and Clint. Your both good folks. Me not so much prefer and like being called the ******* of the group. Don't cook and don't offer much other than my warped drunk prescriptive of life and riding. Clint is a good cook . Got a feeling you are to. You will get know me more so on our ride south. Lupe's wife never said a word to me until we rode together down to Maggie valley. Half way there we were old friends laughing and joking around. Even so have been very honest with steel about my past and believe he even takes me at face valve. May not care much for me but believe he has my back. It takes a very special kind of people to ride a Rocket. Don't matter if you ride it everyday or once in awhile. If you have thrown a leg over it no matter the build your a brother. These folks are a far cry better than then the Harley riders i have rode with. Lets face it we are a very small minority of the motorcycle world. Notice did not say biker?Your not a biker and neither is Clint.Tired of the bull****. Oh hell SONNY has spoken. Weather don't mean ****. You ride you ride period. Might miss a day if the little girl is still around. This time around she might even come on down and enjoy the company. Life goes on. LETS RIDE AND ENJOY. You and your son's shall meet up next weekend. Looking foreword to it as posted in our PM. Looking forward to the ride south and the good times to follow. Enough is enough. Ok, this is enuff. @Mad Dog i got pissed at you for your comment about the Indian thing. Now you’re mad at me about this comment of restaurateur. So I took you wrong now you’ve taken me wrong. I said that because you said you’ve owned some bbq joints so I legit meant that in a positive way. Now let’s stop this bs and just realize we took **** the wrong way from what was actually meant.
I don’t have time for the negativity. With these new grand babies coming in premature, I’m devoting my time to helping with the kids now so I may not even come to Leakey, haven’t booked a room. If I show up it will be only for one day so won’t have time to cook. I’m sure your bbq is great so please handle that for the group.

I would love to make this...especially since it's in my own backyard (sorta), but I'll be riding Big Bend the week before. Not sure if we'll be back yet.
