Ok so Tamworth sounds like a goer what month/dates we looking at September or October would suit me best, I have got a Zone Archery Comp on in November at our local club that I am on the organising committee for

Count me out for Tamworth or Dubbo. I travel through Tamworth all the time on my way to or from our house in Guyra. I also used to go through Dubbo all the time on the Newell on my way to Leeton from Guyra. Both are country towns that have grown too big to be friendly. Ok, you can get a double decaf skinny latte on soy in those places now but I like getting out to the bush and the smaller places. The best places I usually find to stay are small pubs like Tintaldra or Burra or somewhere where you can just throw a tent up in the yard or park your swag outside the pub. Get up in the morning, wet a line in the creek and then go for a ride, find a small town and get bacon and eggs with toast for breaky then keep riding and end up somewhere cool for lunch and a drink then end up back at the swag or tent and start over again. I'm only one vote but if I have to go to Tamworth I'll need a short cut via somewhere interesting to make it worth it :whitstling:

you could always come down to the coast here at Batemans and ride up with me, I'll probably go up the Putty

Could be a plan...maybe from Batemans up through Bathurst, Sofala and Bylong Valley way? ( All depends on when it is etc of course)

Never had a skinny Latte in my life but probably had a million Schooners of beer ,also I have spent the best part of my life roughing it in sleeper cabs on trucks in some little one horse towns or out on bush roads in some sleepover spots with one eye open for the local ferals and now in my twilight years I like a bit of comfort and good company over a beer or 12 so anywhere civilised will do me ,I don't think they have had a spearing since 1956 in tamworth.

In 2 weeks time when I /we are up a Tamworth I will ask the Princess to get some details at Austins Tourist Park ,cabins/camping ect and prices ,we have stayed there often in our caravan and also in the cabins ,lately at the Annual Tamworth Hot Rod Cubs Run we share a 3 bedroom cabin with two other Club Member couples and it is almost a new building and a reasonable tariff , they have a pool and a pub right at the same driveway.
