2015 RAA 10 Details and headcount

I have never hauled a bike to an event but just because of the distance and time involved I might just do that. It's super slab all the way and the VStrom is not that great a highway bike. being better for the back roads and off road.

I can make better time in my truck and I'll just have to absorb the ribbings I might receive from all you real riders.

wee or v? i'm dragging a trailer so may bring my 2 piper, too

No more Rocket, Amigo?
We are also partially doing the Harley Davidson and trailering three motors part way, to Enid, OK.
We leave on the 21st and expect arrival Enid fairly early on the 23rd. Shall ride to Lupe's and then on to the Hub the next day.
What is your itinerary?

I just did a google maps and it shows Port Orchard to Enid is about 1920 miles so it looks like you intend to make about 800 miles a day if you want to arrive in Enid early on the 23rd. Do I have that right?

I plan to depart Apr 21st and arrive at our cousin's place in Trinidad, CO on the 23rd early, about 1500 miles, stopping by Boulder to look at some soft bags for my Strom. It about 720 miles to Marble Falls from Trinidad which I can do in in a day driving or 2 if I ride, 3 if I putz around and take my time. I don't have a room reservation at the Hub until the evening of the 26th so I have a little slop in my planning.

And, I no longer have a Rocket. I gave it to my son a couple of years ago while he was attending the Naval Postgraduate School at Monterey. He is now at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland so I have it to ride while when I visit. I also gave him my VStrom DL1000.

Would you be interested in adopting me ? ;)

I'm actually looking for someone to adopt me.

These are the two bikes I gave to him.

I rode the Rocket on a three day California Hwy 1/wine country, mountain run a couple of years ago though and will do the Rolling Thunder on it in May.

I took the pic of the DL1000 when we rode Death Valley last year.

First off - What a great Dad you be and rightfully proud of your son!

Second - We are three and shall be changing drivers about every tank of gas.
We are towing with a "shaggin' wagon" van which has room for one to sleep.

Third - Just a reminder, we are leaving Marble Falls on the 30th for a 3 -4 day ride to and through the Three Sisters area of Texas before heading back to Enid. You be very welcome to join us if you wish.

Thanks so much for the "great Dad" comment and the caravan invite but I think I'll stick to the original plan and see you guys at Marble Falls. I also appreciate the invite to the Sisters but can't be gone too long. And on the Sisters, there is one leg that has a cattle guard coming out of a tight right twistie. I almost went down on it but was able to get the bike upright enough to avoid a fall. I'll bring a my small travel laptop and show you a few pics.

We shall see you at The Hub!
