2014 R3R begins to start, then cuts off

Sounds like the battery to me too. A charged battery will be over 12.8 v with no load.
Anything less than this means the battery is either not charged or on its merry way to recycling.

Another way to check the battery is to check the voltage while engaging the starter. Record what the voltage drops to if possible. If it is dropping below 9.5 volts, charge/replace it. If your voltmeter has a peak hold function, you can see how low the voltage drops before it kicks out. Again, you should be above 12.8 volts or higher when starting.

I really appreciate all the advice, guys. A weak battery on my other bike usually means a sluggish start and instrument panels being dim, and this seemed very different.

But, I left it on the tender overnight and measured voltage this morning -- it did start, but dropped down to 5-something volts while doing so.

I'll do a bit more troubleshooting and get a new battery.

Seeing your just south of me or southwest. You didn't leave it out when Dorian rolled through? If so and your close to the coast then might have got pretty wet. I know the tide was almost 5 foot higher in my back yard

Its usually the CCA Cold Cranking Amps (rather than just the voltage). Looked at the Video, seems like the battery to me too. Cheers
