2013 R3R Review Update

On that note, the Vrod couldn't be ridden 2-up for more than a few miles. My pillion passengers on the R3R have all felt very comfortable back there with the short Triumph backrest, even in a 250 mile trip.

That's good to hear, as that's one of the main reasons I'll be upgrading to the Roadster.

Mine is an 08 Standard that I have put 20,000 miles on in the last 18 months and I feel the same way about mine. Definitely a keeper.

Mines also a 2008 standard with72,000km,s and about to add another 3,000 km,s over the next. Few days .its just a shame triumph discontinued this model  I'm just gonna have to keep this bike

Great review, it just makes the wait seem even longer. I will finally be a R3R owner this December, that's when the dealers computer said my bike would arrive.:D

Just put a deposit on one today. Black with the red stripes. I'll be picking it up Saturday and can't wait. Thanks for the review.

Congrats, n3716e! It sounds like a very long couple of days for you! Now, folks are big on the introduction threads here, so go introduce yourself and join the community.

I just put on the BS Exedra Max and Mich. Com II tires tonight. They are all slick and new so didn't do any hard cornering, but man, the combo makes the R3R very flickable. The handling felt great previously, but that's certainly a noticeable improvement. I appreciate everyone else's trials and errors with tires so I could just go and get the right set.

I was looking pretty hard at the Speed triple se when I decided to trade in my Storm, My wife decided she was going to get more involved in my hobby and the speedy wouldn't fit. I really got the Rocket so I wouldn't have to sacrifice fun for comfort.

It's the first bike I've had that kept me from looking for another.

Funny, I am always looking at bikes. Shortly after buying a new bike, I found myself searching on line for what else was out there. For a while I think it was to upgrade engine size. Went from a 750 (Honda Aero) to 1300 (Yamaha V-Star). In between I owned, and totaled, a 93 Victory.

Bought a new 2009 Yamaha Raider 1900 - Love that bike. Did lots of mods to make it my own. Have it just the way I want it. Handles great for what it is with the raked out front end and all. Not a corner carver but corners well enough. (Always been a cruiser rider so not aware personally of real corner carvers...) Love the power. And I still think it is a great looking bike. Important!?

Thought I wanted a tourer but did not want a Harley or Gold Wing. Bought the Victory Vision. Great bike. Glides down the road. Decent storage. Only bike I've owned wherein I kept the factory seat. Crazy comfy. Only mod was a two into one exhaust. Took it on more than a few long rides. And yet within 6 months when planning a long trip, I ended up taking the Raider as it is just more fun to ride. Recently completed an 1800 mile week long road trip on the Raider.

I stated in another post I had looked at and considered the Rocket a few times...Only recently took the plunge and bought a 2012 Roadster. LOVE IT!

The Roadster IS everything I want in a bike - power, handling, looks...Making a few mods for visibility, long distance riding, and comfort.

Long story short, an ability I lack so not sure why I say that:

I'm thinking that the Roadster may be the first bike to keep me from looking for another.
